The vase on the kitchen counter shattered above my head, as it got hit by the bullet. I pressed my back against the counter, while reloading my gun, a few more shots destroyed my dishes and decorations, it's been two weeks now since we started trying to kill each other.
"Come on! My sister aims better than you!", I yelled.
"Put your pretty head above the counter and I'll show you! Let's see if you still say your sister is better!", he replied.
"Come down and catch me then!"
"Why don't you come up?"
"You wish!", I jumped up and shot back at him.
I saw his black dressed silhouette on the glass roof, running away, I shot the glass, and he broke in.
"Gotcha.", I smiled but he immediately turned around attacking me with a knife.
"You need to be faster.", I pressed him against the wall, his arm behind his back.
"F*ck.", he complained.
"Maybe later, but first let's see who you are.", I pulled down his mask.
"Hey babe.", he grinned.
"Ashton, should've known it's you."
"I was a bit disappointed, you didn't recognize me.", he turned around.
"I thought you hired someone.", I let go of him.
"You should know I do things myself.", he smiled.
"Yeah, but I'm still the better spy."
"But I'm the better assassin."
"We'll see about that."
"Well then, let's continue another time."
"Oh, you're scared?", I teased him.
"Of you? No. The only thing that scares me is that the fun is over too soon."
"F*ck off now."
He disappeared as fast as he came, I knew I was safe for today, but tomorrow would be exactly the same. I took a quick shower and prepared my equipment, reloading my guns. I activated the cameras and the alarm system, before I went to bed. I needed to be prepared for the next attack, I knew he was an expert in his profession, he just wanted fun.
I went outside the next morning, he couldn't shoot me in public, but that wouldn't stop him from stabbing me from behind.
I was careful, I knew he was behind me somewhere. I went to a restaurant, he couldn't attack me here.
I was just eating my food, as he sat across from me.
"Marco."
"Honey."
"You can't hide."
"I know, but I can be safer."
"Sure about that?", I felt a knife on my leg.
"I see, but you wouldn't dare.", I smiled.
"Try me.", he grinned.
"With pleasure. But not here and not today."
"Not here that's all you get."
"Deal.", he left again, and I paid my food, before leaving.
This time I went to his apartment, now it was my turn, but it was empty, he was nowhere to be seen. I knew it was risky to sneak in his house, where he knew every inch, but I wanted to show him I was as good as him. I walked around preparing to defend myself, he still had some pics of us on the walls, back when we were still working together, and were happy.
