(Hyde x Eric)

Set after Donna leaves for California

Hyde walks in the basement door, a tense look on his face. He knows he has to see Eric, which means talking about feelings.

He hates his feelings.

Especially with the Donna subject. He had realized he was gay right after Eric and Donna had broken up. He was so pissed at her for hurting Eric like that, but he stilled respected her.

The day they broke up, Eric came bursting into his room, tears streaming down his face.

"I broke it off," he said softly. "It's over."

Hyde had grabbed his shoulders and pulled him in, holding him as he shook all night and not letting go until the next morning.

This time, Eric rejected Donna again, but something felt different. He looked... free.

"Hyde?" Eric says, walking down the stairs. Hyde sits on the couch. "So... you know about Donna?" He nods.

"How do you feel?" Hyde asks, almost cringing at what he just said.

Eric's jaw fell, his mouth wide open. "Did you just ask me how I feel?" he says, a mocking tone in his voice. "Yes, okay," he replied. "Don't tell anyone."

They fall into a comfortable silence, and Eric walks over and sits next to Hyde on the couch.

"So, um," Eric starts, eyes darting around the room. Hyde looks at him for a second. "Seriously, though. Are you okay?" Eric smiles, a huge grin on his face.

"I'm fine, Hyde," he replies, smiling brightly. The same smile that made Hyde's stomach feel funny every time he saw it.

"What happened? Did you meet someone?" Hyde asks, dread pooling in his stomach that Eric had.

He raises his eyebrows. "I mean, I guess you could say that," he answered, looking into his eyes. Hyde's hands threatened to shoot up into Eric's hair and smother him with kisses.

"Ok, enough with the cryptic codes," Hyde says finally. "What is going on? If it's a girl, where did you meet her? You know, if it's Jackie, I swear-"

Hyde was cut off when Eric's lips softly met his. Hyde tenses at first, shocked by the sudden move, before running his hands through Eric's hair and over his hips. After a few seconds, they break apart.

Eric was staring at Hyde, trying to see his reaction under his mask of no emotion. Finally, he speaks. "Where in the hell did that come from?" he asks Eric, still confused.

Eric flinches. "You're not mad, are you?" he wonders worriedly, thinking it might've been a mistake.

In response, Hyde grabs his face, kissing him tenderly and slowly, until pulling away to say, "Hell no, man." Eric laughed against Hyde's lips.

"We went out separate ways," he says, "because we're both gay." Hyde chuckled, grabbing Eric's hands. "I could've told you that."

"I've known since we broke up," he continued. "I've been scared to tell you until today. I told Donna, you are my one."

Hyde pulls Eric off the couch, dragging him back to his room to hold him, and never let him go.
