Ep.2 Beautiful Timing

Today was strange, to say the least. For starters I met this beautiful stranger on my way to work today. He definitely saved me with that umbrella. I got to work on time and even had a better day. I got around easier and even got a compliment from my supervisor. I felt much more confident today that I'm in the right place. However I couldn't stop thinking about the beautiful stranger all day. I wish I got his name. He really has the most perfect smile I've ever seen in my life. American boys could never come close. He had such a warm look to him like someone I'd love to talk to. Even his voice made me feel at ease. His entire presence made the world disappear. I really hope I get to see him again. He did say I owe him one after all. Maybe our paths will cross again. I really hope so. Then I'll definitely ask his name and not stand looking like a lost wet puppy.

The phone rings. It's y/n's mother video calling, this time her brother is also with her. They both tell her all about their mornings and what they have planned for the day. Her brother didn't go to work to go to a routine doctor check up. She smiles because she almost forgot how her brother gets when he goes to the doctor. He's only 22 but he still gets so nervous at the doctor, y/n always found it adorable to see him like that. He might be two years younger thank her, but he is really just a big baby. As much as she misses them she ends the conversation so she can get some rest. This time zone difference really sucks at times like this.

Y/n washes up and gets into her pajamas. She decides to sit on the sofa to turn on the television. Feeling drained from today's events she figures she can watch something to help her wind down before going to sleep...

*Alarm goes off at 6:30 am*

She jumps up off the sofa at the sound of the alarm. She looks around realizing she fell asleep on the sofa she decides it was a good investment since she felt like she's had the best sleep ever since moving to Seoul. She rushes over to the bathroom to wash up before going to the closet and picking an outfit for the day. Keeping in mind that it may rain and how she doesn't want to end up with wet squishy shoes again. She decides on a pair of boots today. It is fall after all.

Satisfied with her look for the day she grabs a banana milk and sticks a granola bar in her bag to eat on the bus later. She heads towards the door way and puts on the thigh high black boots and right before she heads out the door she remembers..

"The umbrella!"

Turning to the coat rack she grabs it off quickly then headsout the door. She's not really in a rush today since she decided to leave a few minutes earlier than yesterday. Not wanting to take any chances. She wonders if she'll see the beautiful stranger on her way she made sure she felt extra pretty this morning in case she does run into him. Feeling ease that if she does run in to him she can erase that sad wet damsel in distress look out of his head.
Walking a little slower than usual, trying to not be obvious looking around to for him. She makes it to the bus stop but didn't see him anywhere. Still looking toward the JYP building hoping he might show up. The bus is approaching and sadly still nothing. She takes a seat and sighs so loudly, she's sure the entire bus heard. Realizing her head tilts down and headphones go on. She takes out the granola bar and attempts to at least enjoy the rest of the morning despite the disappointment.

Waling into the office and greeting everyone before reaching her seat. Y/n opens the desktop to see all the new stories that need translation. It's gonna be a long day. Ye-Jun, y/n's partner at work, walks up and plops into the seat next to her.

"I'm so tires today girl"

Ye-Jun is the sweetest, funniest person in this office. It might be because she's the only one who's talks and understands y/n but either way she's great.

"Ye-Jun, you know you
have said that every
morning since I've met you"

Ye-Jun looks at y/n and they both laugh

"Well every morning I am tires.
I never sleep enough before
I come here."

"Okay okay you win"

They get started on translating all the new stories that came in today. Y/n never thought working as a translator for movies/dramas would be so much work. Y/n does struggle with words from time to time however with Ye-Jun, she makes it easier. Together, they get the perfect translations, getting the point across perfectly without losing the point of the emotions. Yesterday the supervisor complimented them saying they are a dream team. It was nice. There are a few people here who don't seem so fond of y/n. She's not sure why but she decides she will just do her work and try to be as efficient as possible for Ye-Jun.

They get through all of our work early today. Done by 17:15 today!! They worked through lunch to get some extra work done. Y/n didn't think that would mean being able to get done so quickly. Both of ladies are so happy to be off early. Ye-Jun tells y/n she will be take the extra time to meet with her fiancé and maybe go out for dinner. They walk out together and head opposite directions.

"Make sure you get some
rest tonight Ye-Jun"

"Yeah I will try!
See you tomorrow y/n"

They wave a final good bye and continue on their way. Y/n decidese to head straight to the bus stop to make her way home. Having some time to clean up some of the boxes from unpacking she's been in Seoul for a month and still getting packages from home. With the extra time she can try and go through some of her things and clear some boxes.

Finally getting off the bus, y/n decided she wanted to try that fried chicken place a couple blocked from her place. She decides to make a stop there before heading home and pick something up. She can have something to eat while going through her boxes. She wants to look up the menu before getting there so she open the app to check. Completely emerged in the phone contemplating what to order..

*SMASH*

The phone drops and y/n stumble back almost losing balance. Right before she could hit the ground a hand reaches out and wraps around her waist. When she looks up she meets the eyes of the Beautiful Stranger.
I can't believe it's him! How is this possible? Where did he even come from?

"Are you okay?"
