Chapter 9

Riley's POV

It's been 3 weeks since James went missing. I was extremely worried, but something inside of me told me that he was ok. I know James. He's a fighter. Unlike myself. He always comes out alive and always has the best plans.

That still didn't change the fact that I missed him a lot.

Things were weird. Emily hasn't talked to me since I came back, which is extremely weird. She gave me glares from time to time, but nothing else. It wasn't like her. She would usually be screaming at me. Something was up.

Even if there was, I wasn't going to find out what it was anytime soon. No way was I going to speak to her.

The truth is, I was afraid. I had no one by my side to protect me. I know that sounded really selfish, but it was the truth. I need someone.

I wanted to go outside for a walk, but considering I got attacked last time I went out on the streets, it didn't feel like a good idea.

I quietly closed the door behind me after going outside, not wanting Emily to hear me leave.

I started walking towards the street where I was hit by a car, knowing that it was the place that Eldon and West usually hung out.

I walked straight towards them.

I stood in front of them, face to face with my arms crossed.

"You just made a really bad choice little girl" West looked at me with a death stare, crossing his arms as well.

He started walking closer to me, clenching his fists. "I wouldn't start if I were you, moron" I placed both my hands on his chest, stoping him from moving closer to me.

He was surprised, and angry. Eldon began to walk over as well, wanting to see what was going on.

"What did you just call me?" He breathed, ripping my hands off his chest.

I looked at him straight in the eye. "A moron, an idiot, a dimwit, a blockhead, a fool, a loser" His eyes grew wider. "Do I need to continue?"

He immediately swung his arm out to punch me, but was interrupted by the sound of sirens.

"You didn't think I wouldn't call the cops one day? Did you?" I gave a light smirk.

He started to laugh, and Eldon looked at him like he was crazy.

"Dude, what are you doing?? We have to run, now!" He yelled, slapping his arm to get his attention.

West flipped his head towards him and pushed him in anger, but continued to laugh.

"You idiot, she has nothing on us. She's got no proof."

The cops began to pull up next to us, hitting the brakes quickly.

"I beg to differ." Eldon quickly pulled out his bluetooth and attached it to his ear while I spoke. "My neighbour caught the footage of you abusing me. I turned it in yesterday, and told them where you would be today so they could arrest you."

The cops began to run towards them.

"Boss! Boss it's Eldon! Code red, I repeat, code red!" He yelled into the bluetooth. "You said this wouldn't happen! You said we would never get caught!"

I stepped back to let the cops cuff them, and looked at them in confusion. Who was Eldon talking to?

"Eldon Mathers, West Wellers, you're both under arrest for physical assault on a female minor" With that, they were pulled into the cop car and driven away.

I felt relief for once. I was one step closer to feeling good.

Yet one step farther. Who is the Boss?
