Jenna heard the knock and registered the voice. She groaned. Standing up, she went to open the door. As she did so, her hand ran across the light switch. The room went from light, to pitch dark. She let out a small cry and froze.

"Jenna?" The knock came again.

Jenna stood still, frozen in fear.

"Hello?" the door opened, letting in a slight waft of cool air. She had forgotten to lock it when Nicole left. Matt looked around as his eyes adjusted to the dark. Then, in the moonlight, he saw her standing there.

Jenna hated he saw her like this. Vulnerable. Scared. But there was nothing she could do about the darkness.

Matt moved forward and took her hands. He reached over her shoulder and turned on the light. Jenna got a whiff of his manly scent.

She felt all her fear slowly creep away when the lights turned back on. "Thanks."

"No problem. Why was the light off?"

"I bumped it."

"Oh."

Jenna realized he was playing with her fingers. As much as she hated it, she pulled away. "Why are you here?"

"Nicole felt bad that she hurt your feelings. I wanted to make sure you were okay."

Jenna tilted her head to the side. "How did you know Nicole was here?"

"I had dinner with Blake and Nicole came home all flustered." He responded.

"I see."

There was a moment of silence. "Listen, there's a big storm coming up soon and it's supposed to be really bad. I'd feel better if you weren't here alone during it." Matt waited for her response.

Jenna picked up her cat. "I have Snickers."

"Snickers doesn't know how to wake you from nightmares."

Jenna winced. "You had to bring that up."

"Sorry. But I don't like the thought of you here alone."

"You don't have a right to worry about me. We-" Jenna gestured to the two of them. "Broke up. Remember?"

"I remember." He said dryly. "But it doesn't mean I like it."

Jenna didn't want to admit it, but she was glad he was worried about her. "There's nothing we can do about it. Both us and the storm."

"We can fix 'us'. The storm on the other hand, we can find somewhere for you to stay."

"We can't fix 'us'. And I'll be fine."

"Jenna-"

"I said I'll be fine." She told him through gritted teeth. "Now go home."

"No."

"Go. Home."

Matt gave in, but as he left, he turned to her, "This matter is not finished."

Jenna closed the door on him. "It is if I have any say in it." She grumbled.

Raphael grunted as he let go of the weights. He enjoyed being free from the nasty prison. Free from his father. Free to finish Jenna Gilmore off like his father should have done. Save the woman some pain. Blake Tanner displayed a great amount of strength in the abduction. Jenna just had gotten on his nerves.

Raphael left the gym and slid into his black mustang. How was he going to kill her? Or maybe he could just abduct her and not kill her. That would make things easier. No, then Matt Proger would decide to come after her. Killing her was the best bet. Then his father could finally have closure. He could make up some sad story of Blake's untimely death then kill Jenna. His father wouldn't be able to figure it out.
