Brian stared into the persona's empty expression. Or was it empty? There seemed to be something in its eyes. He tried to pry its hands off of his shoulders but it's grip was too tight. He took in its face with great detail, most of it was blacked out by ink, but some of it was visible. It's eyes were the most unobscured, staring into Brian's.
"Dad!" It gurgled, before melting into a puddle on the ground.
"Brian what the fuck." Said Ace from the doorway. "That thing just called you dad!" He exclaimed.
"Look, I didn't really think I'd see it again,"
"So you knew about this?!"
"Yes! I did!"
"Then explain," he demanded, pointing at the puddle. Brian walked out of the room and to the sofa in the center of the studio. He sat down as Ace did, and put a hand to his forehead.
"I never thought I'd have to explain this," he muttered, Ace rolled his eyes, he was waiting. Brian sighed, "After being with Spade and Blake for so long, I started to want someone new,"
"No, Brian, that thing isn't,"
"It's a persona, yes, but also my son."
"Go on,"
"And since Ryan wasn't creating a new one, I took it upon myself to create one,"
"You can't just create a persona Brian! It doesn't work like that!"
"Don't you think I knew that?!" He clenched his fists, "I wanted someone new and yet Ryan didn't feel like creating one!"
"Are you gonna do that when you're bored of me? Just create a new persona?"
"No! I was just desperate alright?!"
"Desperate enough to create an abomination?"
"Sam isn't an abomination!"
"It has a name?"
"Yes it has a name!" Brian shouted, he felt the ink spreading on his skin, he can't get too angry. But Ace was making that hard to do. The puddle moved over to Brian's feet and reformed into Sam. "Hey bud, could you go back into your room for a bit?" He requested, Sam nodded and went back to their room. Brian started to breathe deeply, but Ace went on.
"That thing isn't a persona! It's something you created, don't pretend like it isn't"
"Sam is a persona, what don't you get about it?"
"If Ryan didn't create it then it's not one of us!" As he said this, a green glow came from behind them and someone materialized.
"If I didn't create what?"
"Ryan! Brian tried to create a new persona and thinks he was successful!"
Ryan sighed, "Where are they?" Brian walked over to Sam's room and pushed the door open.
"Sam, you can come out now," He whispered, they slipped out from under the door and stopped at Brian's feet. He walked back over, Sam reforming as he stopped in front of them.
"That's the persona?" Ryan asked, Brian nodded. "Looks like it failed,"
"Sam isn't a failure!" Brian defended, grabbing Sam's arm, or, tried to, ink wasn't really solid when you grab it.
"Brian stop getting so defensive, it's a mindless entity. Something that will only haunt the mind scape."
"No they won't! They're my son and you can't say otherwise," Brian could feel it now, the ink, it was spreading fast. But he didn't care anymore, he felt like hurting something, like hurting someone.
"Brian! It has to be killed!" Ryan shouted, pulling out a weird sort of device. Brian felt the ink about to reach his face. Good. Let it take over.
"Brian? What's going on with your face?" Ace asked, stepping towards him.
"Ace don't!" Ryan warned before the room exploded.Brian sifted through the ink-covered furniture. His hands not covered by the furniture, nor the explosion, but from his own body. This has never happened before, so he didn't know how deadly it could be. But Ace had to be here somewhere, and so did Ryan. Sam was on the ceiling, watching Brian as he worked.
, "Dad, whatcha doing?" They asked, Brian sighed. "Looking for those mean people?" He didn't answer. He noticed a hand poking out from under the ink and hurriedly grabbed it and started to pull. Ryan was dragged upwards, spurting ink from his mouth.
"Agh! Get away!" He screamed, slipping and landing face first on the floor. Then he glowed green again, before vanishing. That's one problem taken care of, he thought. He scanned the room again, some of the furniture seemed to be moving. Again, he rushed over and shoved some of the furniture away, revealing, Ace. Part of his face was covered in ink, but it had a weird texture. Like styrofoam mixed with slime. And it seemed to be bubbling too.
"Brian...." Ace groaned, Brian reached down to touch the weird ink, but got a blast of heat when he got near it. The ink was boiling, and was on Ace's skin. Panicking, Brian picked up Ace and ran outside of his studio, his footprints making the snow turn black. He tried to call out for help, but his voice wouldn't sound. Again and again he called out, but he couldn't speak. All while Ace started to cry from the pain.
"Brian darling! What's going on?" Brian whipped his head to face Spade, who was running down the street towards them, his cape billowing out from behind him. "Ace! Mon dieu, what happened?" they asked, he pointed to his mouth, which made Spade recoil. "Monseiur, why are you covered in ink?" Again, Brian pointed to his mouth. "Ah, I understand darling. Now, we should get Ace to a doctor. Oh cards we don't have one!"
"I would say otherwise."
