(No ones pov)

Gon and Killua were three years old when they were put into the same pre-school, "Small Tot's pre-school". The yellow paint looked like spoiled mustard dried on the wall, not that the mindless toddlers in the baby-prison minded it. The classroom was small, filled with letters and numbers, small insects and creatures painted on each wall. Small plastic chairs were coated with a light coat of cheese dust and finger smudges from the small grubby toddler hands that misused them everyday, Killua always preferred to stand or sit on the floor, too petrified of the residue to even be within 5 inches of it, and of course Gon didn't mind- he even used to use his pointer fingers to drum on the top of the chairs, humming a beat of a tune he heard his dad listen to at the time.

Every Monday-Friday their dads would drop them off before going onto their separate jobs. Killua was more then happy to be free from the burden of the prison of his home, but Gon always kicked and whined when Ging had to leave him- "Daddy don't go-! I don't wanna stay!" Ging always had to reply that Killua was there, and as soon as the little black-haired boy heard that he smiled and willingly calmed down, sitting on the floor to play with a wooden train or blocks: and like a broken record, Ging had to deal with Gon's outbursts every time. Then during nap time, Killua could never sleep: afraid of the dark, so he'd skittishly nudge Gon awake, and Gon would cuddle him and that comfort would be enough to soothe the white haired boy.

Through all of this, Gon and Killua had become close friends in that small hellhole and as the years went by Gon and Killua stuck by each other through elementary school and middle school. Now as the males make it through their last year and a half of high school I'm the only one in town, "Blue Valley High school"

(GONS POV)

I shook awake suddenly from hearing the loud alarm blaring in my ear almost deafeningly, man why did I let Killua set up my alarm- that jerk set it to an obnoxious airhorn, much to my displeasure but I'm too lazy to change it- Guess i'll suffer then. I slammed my fist down on it I wasn't sure if I hit the snooze button or the off button. At this point it didn't matter. I slump lethargically out of bed and walk over to my dresser grabbing a pair of pants the school assigned to me and grabbed the button up shirt and blazer. My eyes catch on a bobble-head Killua got for me for my 14th birthday a while back, and with a chuckle I flicked it's head- it's a tiny caricature of Sherlock Holmes, my favorite fictional detective, and it bobbed side to side in a rhythmic sway.

Suddenly, torn away from my fixation on mini Holmes, the airhorn sounded again and because of my lighting fast reflexes (I swear it wasn't out of fear) I threw the bobble-head at the alarm clock, and the noise ceased... to the casualty of mini Holmes now on the dirty floor, I rush panicked to it's aid, not minding the now hanging by its wire alarm clock sadly asking to be put back up before the wire gives out and ends its misery. I sadly cup the bobble in my hands and shed a tear dramatically, "Sherlock Holmes the 2nd- your sacrifice will be remembered-" I choked out with extra emotion, dusting it off and placing it back on my dresser with a satisfied smile at the lack of damage or dust on the figure. Oh wait- my eyes flash to the time in the clock, I had to kneel down and tilt my head but it read, '6:20am' eh... enough time for a bath and some nibbles, I think.

Uncaring that I was shirtless and only wearing my pajama bottoms, I grabbed my phone with my thumbprint since usual security measures are easily unreliable, scrolled past the picture of Killua, his dad, my father and myself I had as my homescreen and sent Killua a quick text.

'Hey Killua, do you wanna come over for breakfast or are you busy? Also if you want, Alluka can too! I'm not too far away from the apartments to walk, am I?'

While I waited for a response I grabbed my strawberry scented shampoo and conditioner and headed for the bathroom. Look, I know people say that 'strawberry scented stuffs for girls' but strawberries are like my favorite fruit that's not oranges- don't judge me. I turned on the water to the right a bit further then normal since Aunt Mito never got around to tightening the handle, waiting for it to get to the perfect temperature before stripping off my bottoms and underwear then stepping in and letting the water seep into every corner of my body, covering me until my head was the only thing unsubmerged, a gentle steam moistened my face in a pleasantly relaxing mist, the vapor of the water dancing up threw the air evaporating in front of my eyes.
