"C'mon! Hurry up!"
Taiyo called back for Kuroko, who he could not see in the darkness, and could barely hear over the sound of the wind going by as he ran. Kuroko, who was *far* less physically capable than the parkourist, was falling a bit behind whilst chasing Taiyo.
The sun would be rising in about twenty minutes, and Taiyo wanted to get to the roof of the large, abandoned mall they found themselves at before the sun rose. Taiyo had something planned...
Kuroko turned his headlamp on, to help see where Taiyo was. He would see Taiyo's figure leaping between rusty railings, overhead lights that hadn't been used in years, and even wall running when they were in an area without holes in the walls. Kuroko couldn't do the same moves as Taiyo, so he just ran the least blocked path in following.
"Taiyo...! Please! Slow down...!"
Taiyo felt he couldn't slow down. Right now, Taiyo was racing Kuroko, and his thoughts. Taiyo had always had fond feelings for Kuroko, but lately, they had intensified massively. The way Kuroko's eyes studied his movements when he watched hin jump around, the way he spoke in such an articulate manner, the way Kuroko called him "Sunshine" and "Dear"... It's like Kuroko was all he could think about.
Up ahead was the stairwell to the roof. Taiyo sped onwards, and twenty seconds behind him, Kuroko went onwards towards the stairs in a stumbling, out of breath jog. Taiyo finally slowed down, but only to inspect the stairwell, as it had been at least a decade since the stairs were used last. What if the stairs were gone by now? Taiyo would have no problem getting up, but Kuroko...
"Taiyo...! Thank goodness... dear, you move quite hastily..."
Kuruko finally had a chance to catch his breath, and so did Taiyo. Both boys put their hands on their knees, leaning over to help themselves breathe. After a minute, Kuroko shone his headlamp up the stairs, noticing a large gap between some of them. He had no doubt that Taiyo could clear it... but... he would not be able to.
"Oh... Taiyo? How do you suppose I continue upwards? Undoubtedly, you will be able to..."
Kuroko looked down a bit, in slight disappointment. Perhaps if he were more physically capable... he would be able to go up with Taiyo like he hoped.
"Oh, that? No problem! I can help you up!"
Kuroko looked back upwards, looking at Taiyo in a way that the light shone enough to see him, but not shine right into his eyes.
"Well then...! After you."
Taiyo smiled and nodded at Kuroko, and darted into the stairwell, jumping between the two walls surrounding them to clear the upwards gap, in a move that impressed Kuroko.
"Wow! I-I mean- I had no doubts you would be able to clear that. Now, how do you suppose you help me up?"
Taiyo waited at the stair above the hole and turned around, finally turning his headlamp on. He had been relying on the dim light from Kuroko's distand headlamp to parkour his way to the stairs... and when he looked down, the light did not shine back up. However deep that pit was, it was too deep to see the bottom.
"Oh... uhm... Okay! Kuroko! You are gonna have to trust me on this one..."
Kuroko nodded and smiled. He trusted Taiyo with everything in him. He would follow Taiyo to the ends of the earth if he asked him to.
"Alright, you are gonna get a running start, and JUMP! I can catch you and pull you up! Don't worry about being strong enough, I can do it!"
Kuroko's body shivered at the thought, but he trusted Taiyo. He backed up about thirty feet, and aimed himself directly at the stairs for a sprint.
