That evening, Sidharth was sitting in his room, scrolling through his gallery to find his phone half filled with Shehnaaz's videos. He had shot quite a few of those himself, but he was pleasantly surprised to find a good number of new ones that he hadn't seen yet.

He sent a couple of videos in the gang's group chat with a bunch of emojis and laughed to himself. She was so damn adorable it was painful.

The rest of the group was in their cottage, dutifully calling home and recounting their day's adventures to their respective families like they had done every other day of the week. He had been invited to stay but he wanted a couple of minutes to himself, calling home and **reflecting**  thinking in overdrive.

Which was not new, except he didn't think he'd be faced with this situation on a vacation.

The Jet-ski episode was still somewhere in the back of his mind, Sidharth was a little uneasy.

It was not like he knew Shehnaaz well enough to be worrying over what he thought was an off moment and might not be. Maybe, he was reading too much into the situation. Even good friends can have an off moment, even friends can have walls that they'd rather not see destroyed, boundaries that are better uncrossed but it did feel strange to him.

It wasn't really a big thing to ask for, just a Jet-ski ride.

Sidharth groaned, trying to stop his thoughts from going completely astray. He didn't need to over analyse this.

In his defense, Shehnaaz was one of the most amazing, most beautiful people he'd had the pleasure to have met. She practically wore her heart on her sleeve, to think he might have, on accident, done something to make her erect a wall around her, make her wary of him, felt almost like being gutted with a knife over and over again.

No one expected such a wild reaction from him over nothing, but what could he do? This was his heart and it was stubborn. Hardly ever in his control.

This was about Shehnaaz and his inexplicably growing fondness of her.

Sidharth sighed, a soft blush colored his cheeks as the phone in his hands flashed with an incoming message.

I MISS YOU. COME OVER

A

ll caps. No arguments. He felt a flutter in his heart reading the text from Shehnaaz. It was like his inhibitions were gone in second at her "summon"

Funny how her reluctance to talk to him directly had sent him head-first into a spiral of thoughts that only ended with a message in which she practically ordered him to go and meet her because she was missing him.

Hakk se bulaaya hai, jaana toh padega!

Sidharth was sipping on a cocktail, leaning against the bar while the rest of the group danced.

Shehnaaz was standing next to him, finishing her own drink before she would also join the others.

"Tu kyon nahi chal raha hai mere saath?" Shehnaaz asked curiously.

"Mujhe dance karna pasand nahi hai." He responded. "I don't want to make a fool of myself."

Shehnaaz clicked her tongue, disappointed and Sidharth shrugged. "Tu ja na darling. Mai idhar se terko taad raha hu. Uss me hi khush hoon."

Shehnaaz scoffed, hitting his shoulder playfully before pushing the empty glass in his hand. "Miss me okay?"

Sidharth nodded. "I will."
