"Fire! Fire!"
Cried out from the loudspeaker, nothing can be heard as the air is filled with the deafening roar of gunfire and incoherent shrieking from the distance. They were the crew of SCPS Shield, one of the battleships under the Foundation's naval force to combat aquatic threats. And in this situation what they are subduing was SCP-4217, a nuisance, and echo from the past that is living out before them.A large explosion rang out near the cruiser, and a large pillar of water sprouted upwards as mist gradually formed. The captain looked out and saw the large eyeball protruding out of Bismarck's superstructure focusing on them.
"SCP-4217 is targetting us, engage!"
A crack in the radio before two replies came loud and clear
"Yes sir"
"Engaging!"
The captain looked out with his binoculars as the Bismarck thrashed around after being bombarded, its pink hydrostats flailing around. All the crew member on board instantly covered their ears again as another screech came from the sentient battleship. Several turrets turned to face off against the SCPS Saviour and Sword, who were firing upon the uncontained Keter-class. But even this is not enough, as the beast continued to fire upon the heavily wounded SCPS Shield.
"Evasive manuveurs quick! Get as far from it as fast as possible!" The captain shouted to his crew, there was no time to stand around idle. The stunned crew snapped out of their horrified trans and rushed to their positions. More resounding roars as ships under the Foundation guise pounded Bismarck's belt armor with shells. Prompting more screams of pain from the SCP.
"SCPS Shield, this is SCPS Saviour, disengage immediately, we will take care of this"
"Orders received," the captain said to the radio, he turned to see the crew scrambling to get orders out and keeping the ship's status in check. He grabbed a fellow member rushing past him, "What's the status of the ship?"
"Not good captain, propellers got busted when SCP-4217 surfaced right on our rear!" came a terrified response
The captain cursed under his breath before running back towards the radio equipment, he staggered as the cruiser rocked back and forth with more shells dropping nearby. The crew member that was beside them quickly grabbed ahold of the captain just as he was about to fall
"Thanks" he grunted
He quickly picked up the radio to inform the captains of the two SCPS cruisers, but before he could even say a word the whole ship jerked in motion. Throwing everyone off of their feet, "The hell was that!?" someone cried
The ship jerked again, and the captain stumbled to his feet and assess the situation. He noticed that his ship is getting closer and closer to the Bismarck, and that the Bismarck itself appeared to be swerving around. He looked at the waters and his eyes widen in horror as a massive whirlpool was forming under Bismarck.
"Steer out! We are getting pulled in!"
A loud crash and a metallic screeching can be heard and the captain watched in horror as SCPS Sword slammed into Bismarck due to the water currents. Its broadside buckled inwards from the impact. SCPS Saviour was in the process of being pulled in but a massive salvo from SCP-4217 sent the cruiser out from its momentum."SHI-"
The sound of metal clashing and buckling filled the air as the ships continued to be dragged into the whirlpool, a loud crash can be heard as one of SCP-4217's tentacles slammed and wrapped around SCPS Shield. Its eyes focused on the ship before screaming in a low rumbling tone.
Silence.
There was nothing else.
The doctor leaned back as the black box recording ended, he looked up and sighed before returning to type on his computer.
With the report of Incident 4217-11, this event can only be described as a double-edged sword. The incident resulted in the loss of SCPS Sword and SCPS Shield, with SCPS Saviour severely damaged. However, it appears this was the cost for the potential neutralization of SCP-4217. We have yet to rule out whether or not the whirlpool was SCP-1823, or if it was a spacial anomaly that hasn't been identified. We must remain vigilant in case another incident such as this is to occur in the near future. So far as of 15/05/2021, there has been no sighting or activity from SCP-4217. I am hereby submitting my request to change SCP-4217's designation from Keter class to Neutralized. -Doctor Chet
"Aww, man! SCP-4217's gone? There goes my squid sashimi buffet," came a half-cheery and half-disappointed tone. The same voice that anyone can recognize, a man donning a ring hanging around his shoulder, a sliver embroidery with a crimson red ruby in the middle.
"Dr. Bright..." Dr. Chet said with his palm to his face
"That's my name! Now don't wear it out or expect it to be in a hot wash and not get shrunken," Bright rose his arms up
"Can it with the remarks, what are you seeking?"
"Hmmm," Dr. Bright crossed his arms and closed his eyes, appearing to be in deep thoughts. Chet simply looked with a brow raised, "Ah yes! Just came to ask about any possible news of SCP-4217!"
"I'm pretty sure you already know the answer better than I do, unless you want to take a dip in the vast Atlantic Ocean for your squid sashimi I rather you go to a fish market instead." Came the cold response
"Man you're no fun," Bright pouted before turning back with a serious expression, "But do you think the Bismarck is actually neutralized by that whirlpool?"
"Hopefully, but for now nothing is set in stone. So we need to remain on guard." Chet told the doctor
...
The once tranquil blue sea and sky are suddenly engulfed by smoke and oil. The remains of the SCPS Shield and SCPS Sword remained afloat but in no condition to set sail again. A figure in a black outfit and cape emerged behind the two smoldering shipwrecks and walked passed them. The girl rolled her eyes up at the deep blue sky and continued to stare before finally setting her sight on the neverending ocean before her. She opened her mouth and simply uttered
"Confusion"...
