Description:

SCP-4217 is not one but two separate entities. SCP-4217-A is the designation given to the German battleship Bismarck, believed to have been sunk during World War 2. SCP-4217-B refers to a massive squid-like organism fused within the hull of SCP-4217-A. SCP-4217-B possesses a pair of octopoid eyes located at the ship's superstructure and up to twelve tentacles of various sizes.

Although SCP-4217-A is inert, SCP-4217-B is capable of controlling every aspect of the battleship. Including its main armaments, secondary guns, AA guns, radio equipment, torpedo gates, along with the ship's locomotion and steering- which are achieved through the ejection of water from SCP-4217-B's body cavity or its muscular hydrostats. The average speed at which SCP-4217 travels on the surface is around 40 knots, but it is also capable of traveling submerged at approximately 30 knots.

SCP-4217-A possesses various anomalous properties due in part to the Obskuracorps, who was responsible for the transportation of multiple artifacts used within the construction of the battleship. The list of anomalous abilities that had been exhibited is as follows:

-Thaumatological symbols engraved within the belt armor, during battle it is revealed that the symbols played a key role in SCP-4217's survival. The markings are shown to glow in various luminosity depending on the amount of damage SCP-4217 had endured

-A psionic field covering up to 20 kilometers, any entities within this range reported suffering from confusion or hallucinations. Records from engagements between the British Royal Navy and SCP-4217 show large evidence of friendly fire incidents when crews mistook allied vessels for Bismarck

-Ammunition filled with a mutagenic agent, any living beings exposed to the gas will rapidly mutate and lose higher brain functions. Entities will then be referred to as SCP-4217-1, SCP-4217-1 are hostile to any living beings not under the effects of the mutagenic agent

-Ability to self-repair any damage over time, subsequent engagements and observation revealed SCP-4217's capabilities to regenerated damage in a manner similar to wounded flesh in organisms

-Unknown engine and power source, reports from captured crews of the Bismarck imply that SCP-4217 requires a special fuel in the form of organic nutrients. Two reports claimed to have heard heartbeats emitting from the interior of the engine room


Special Containment Procedures: 


Foundation naval forces are to patrol the Atlantic Ocean for any signs of SCP-4217 entering its hostile state, under the guise of the Royal Navy, up to 3 ships are to engage SCP-4217 until it reverts to a passive state. Civilians who survived are to be processed according to Maritime Disinformation Protocol

Note from the O-5 Council: Under no circumstances is Dr. Bright allowed to harvest SCP-4217's tentacles for squid sashimi, we do not know if it is edible let alone trying our resources to obtain it. Lastly, Dr. Bright's persuasion of SCP-4217's ability to regenerate equates to a limitless food supply should be disregarded at all times
