It was time for recess, unlike the other times there was a huge crowd of people around one table in the canteen. While, majority were flocking around that table there were a few people who were scattered around.
' Really? What does he even have that everyone is flocking around him?' Neha wondered upon entering the canteen.
Ignoring that flock of people she started to search for someone who she might sit with for the time being since Aditi and Johnny ditched her today because they were not feeling good enough. Suddenly her eyes found Arjun and a few other boys. She decided to join them if they are okay.
" Hey Arjun," a voice called out which caught Arjun's attention who was having a good time with his firends.
" Is it okay if I can join you guys for today?" she asked with hopeful eyes.
" Um... Neha I think,"
" You can sit with us!" Before Arjun could speak the rest of the boys made the decision, ' They took the decision without me?' he thought, ' Well, I was about to reject thinking that they would feel uncomfortable but I guess they are okay.'
With a quick thank you Neha sat down. A silence ensued whle Neha was thinking ways to break the ice, the others had different thoughts.
' Can't believe a girl is sitting next to me!'
' God I didn't expect this but am I looking good today?'
' Can't beleive I' am sitting with one of the popular kid.'
" Um... I never met any of you guys before can we like introduce ourselves?" She had a nervous smile on her face.
" My name is Karun,"
" I' am Lovejot,"
" I' am Vikram but you can call me Vicky"
" Hello, my name is Neha."
And then again a conversation started about academics and being a Year 10 student among a group of Stage 1 students didn't help in joining in on the conversation. So, while she was at it she just observed the conversation. ' This guy Vicky kind of seems familiar .'
" Hey do you play games in the gaming cafe Arena? Do you?" she asked.
" Oh yeah, I do" Vicky said. " How do you know that?"
" I saw you there a lot of times, "
" Oh, are you interested in games?" he asked.
" Yeah sure, I go with my bodyguard Ben all the time." she said.
" Bodyguard? You mean the guy in the suit who is always with you ?" he asked.
" Yeah"
