Charlie had been there for two days. Her and Jessica had bonded just like they used to, going out for dinner, or shopping (which Charlie secretly loved.) She had loved every second of it, because it got her mind off of Jen, and her classes. She had chosen a lot of things that go along with what her dad did, which was programming and creating animatronics. She always loved it, ever since she was a kid. She remembered watching the animatronics he created dance along with her twin brother, Sammy. They were practically inseparable, until they weren't anymore. The yellow bunny had snatched Sammy from her, and she would never forget her fear.
Now Jessica and Charlie were in a cinema, watching a comedy. Charlie was zoned out, having flashbacks of the shitty memory, and Jessica wasn't paying attention. Charlie skipped back to reality, sweat dripping down her face, alongside some tears. She looked at Jessica, who was laughing at the movie, and calmed herself down. She wiped her tears and ate some popcorn. She knew better than to let the memory affect her, but couldn't help it taking a chunk out of her sunshine each time it came to mind.
Eventually, the movie ended, and they got up to leave. As soon as they were out of the dark, Jessica said to Charlie, "Your mascara is running, were you crying? I noticed you were a bit out of it in there."
Charlie just shook her head and walked towards the car. She had walked off with speed, which left Jessica having to run to catch up with her, almost breaking her ankle whilst doing so. She got in the car, and Charlie drove off. "Where are we going, to a restaurant or are we ordering?" Charlie asked.
"What about drive through?" Jessica asked.
"Sounds like a better plan." Charlie replied.
They had decided on McDonalds, and once they arrived back to their dorm, they dug straight in. They wouldn't stop talking, laughing about things that didn't particularly make sense. Then a name they both knew came up.
"I saw you staring at John the other day."
"What?"
"Don't deny it, you like himm..."
"No I don't! Shut up!"
"Yes you do..."
"Fuck off."
"HA!"
Jessica walked off with a grin, looking down at her phone. Charlie threw away all the rubbish and got changed into her pyjamas. Tomorrow was the day she was dreading, and she ought to get ready.
She put all of her text books in a black backpack, along side some technical bits, pens, pencils, rulers, maths kit, and notebooks. She knew if she was required to have other things she could buy them, so she didn't stress about that.
She prepped herself for bed and went to sleep, falling unconscious almost instantly.
Jessica did as well, not long after.
