April 14th, 1918

there Polina was, in front of the Romanov's household. She knocked gently, two knocks, one of the maids wearing a black and white dress, opened the door. "Good morning, ma'am," she said quietly, bowing .

"Good morning, Kira, how was breakfast?" Polina asked kindness in her voice with a closed mouth and closed eyed smile.

"It was good, thank you for asking" Kira answered, a light smile and some blush on her face. Polina brushed past Kira, as Kira went back to cleaning. Polina started to go up the stairs, Maria waiting at the top.

Maria was wearing a light blue dress, very flowy. They kissed one another's cheeks as a greeting holding both hands together, then Polina went to Tsar's office And knocked gently, three times.

"Come in!" Polina heard from in the office.

Polina entered Tsar's office, paper scattered all over the floor and desk. "Good morning, sir," she said calmly.

He turned around in his chair. "Good morning Polina, how have you been?" Tsar asked.

"Good, thank you for asking sir," she bowed after she responded, her light brown hair covering her face as she bowed.

He went back to writing on the pile or papers On his desk. She stood beside him. Staring at his work, words filled the pages. "Maybe you could-" she was cut off by Tsar.

"Quiet please, I'm trying to work."

"But sir," Polina tried to protest.

"Leave the room, now Polina, your distracting me." he said with a strict voice.

"Yes sir," Polina said turned around and headed to the door, "goodbye ," She left the room and closed the door behind her.

She went to talk to Maria. Polina opened Maria's door and peeked her head inside. "Hello Maria," Polina said, opening the door all the way, closeing it behind her. She walked towards maria's bed and sitting down on on the soft silky covers. Maria, who was next to Polina, was reading a book.

"Did my father make you leave again?" Maria asked looking up from her book and her friend taking Polina's hand, Maria stared into polina's eyes.

"Sadly, yes," Polina whimpered. She pulled Maria into a hug.

"My birthday is soon, you'll come right?" Maria grabbed her friend by the shoulders to pull Polina off her.

"Of course," Polina answered her with a smile. She put her right hand on Maria's head.

"See you there,"

"Yeah see you," Maria said as she watched Polina get up from the bed and walked towards the door.

"goodbye" whispered Polina as she closed the door.

"goodbye, polina," Maria said with a smile and blush on her face.
