I Saw Red

Chapter 1

End of Happiness part 1:
Blaze (age 6)

It's a bright and sunny day. Mommy was outside tending to the garden, while I was drawing on the porch. "Mommy, Mommy. Look at what I drew for you". She looks up and say's with a smile "Oh, what a beautiful flower. Good job, Blaze". "Thank you" I say with a huge grin.

Mommy gets up and starts to walk inside. "It's time for lunch, come inside" she says while, waving her hand towards her. "Ok. I'm coming." I say while fumbling with my crayons and paper. When I make it inside, Mommy's already making the food. "Please wash your hands and come sit at the table" she says while placing the plates on the table. "Ok, Mommy." I say and go wash my hands.

When I get seated. I notice that it's my favorite. "Yay~ Buffalo wings with extra hot sauce!" I say with excitement. And start to dig in. Mommy giggles "You really like it, huh?"

"Yeah" I say with my mouth full. "It tastes really good"

She giggles again "You're just like your Father"

"Really?"

"Yup. Just like him."

"What happened to Daddy?" I ask cautiously, Mommy always has a sad face whenever I wonna know about Daddy.

She looks at me with a smile and opens her arms out, and singles me to sit in her lap. So I went over and sat. 'Aah,nice and warm' I thought while snuggling closer. Mommy says calmly "Your Dad loved me and you so very much, Blaze. But, even with all that love he couldn't stay with us."

"Why?"

"Well your Dad's a very important person. And he knew people that were in trouble, so he felt that he had to go and help them."

"But why didn't he come back?" I asked.

"Well" she goes on to say " There are people who tried to harm him, and he thought that if he leaves then those people would try to hurt those close to him."

"Really?" I say with worry in my voice. "It's ok, sweetie. Nothing's going to happen, I'll always be here to protect you,so don't worry."

"I won't worry Mommy. And you don't have to worry neither because I'll protect you." I say with a huge smile. She smiles and nods back. "Oh dear, it's already this late. Time for bed." she says while looking out the window. "Aw~" I wine, "Can I stay up a little more Mommy?"

"No. Get your pajamas on." she chide.

As I wormed my way into my bed Mommy places a small box on the nightstand."What's that Mommy?" I ask. "It's a gift that Mommy and Daddy made for you before you were born." she said with a cheerful look on her face. "Really?!" I say with utter excitement and a joyful glee in my eyes. "Open it." she says. I slowly open the little box and I saw a beautiful necklace with a cut stone that a pretty light blue color.

I gasp with astonishment, while Mommy giggles and asks "Do you like it?"

"Like it? I LOVE it!!" I replied with pure joy. "I'm glad you like it. It has the same pretty color of your eyes." She replies.

I gazed at the stone in amazement. "Really?" I say with a confused look.

"Yup. The same exact color." she replies in a reassuring voice. 'Hmm? I guess so' I thought, while Mommy ties the lace of the necklace around my neck. "Well time to get some sleep." Mommy said while pulling up the covers." "Huh? No way~ I can't sleep now~!" I wined. Mommy smiles then says "Ok then, how about I sing your favorite lullaby?"

"Yay~!" I yell. " Ok,ok." Mommy says trying to calm me down. Mommy sits beside me on my bed and begins to sing.

I was completely enchanted by Mommy's enchanting and soothing voice, then with that I became relaxed, and I slowly began to fall into a deep sleep. Where the amount of dreaming was unlimited. I could dream about anything. Any time or place. But all dreams end and you wake up. But also that new day gives you a new chance to start over and gives an opportunity to make those dreams real.

I'm Staring at my new necklace at the breakfast table. "Hey, you gotta eat something before going out to play. You'll faint in the middle of the forest." Mommy says while making a funny face. "Hehehe" I giggled, "I'll eat" I said before stuffing my face oatmeal and some toast with strawberry jam. "Whoa!Slow down, you'll choke ." Mommy said with her eyes practically popping out of her head. I gulped everything down and let out a relieved sigh. ' I almost died~ ' I thought.

But I completely forgot it in two seconds. Then I headed for the door while Mommy followed. After we walked, which seemed like forever, I noticed the creek along the trail. "We're here! We're here!" I say in excitement. I take off my shoes and start running towards the creek, then when I make it to the edge I carefully place my necklace on a boulder near by.

Then I jump right into the water. "EEKK~! It's cold!" I say completely soaked. Mommy laughs at me shaking. I stick my tongue out at her. She notices and sticks her tongue out too. We both giggle. "Achoo!" I sneezed. "Come on. Lets go home so you won't get a cold." I know not to argue with Mommy when it comes to colds, so I nod and followed her back to our cottage. And I noticed that it was getting dark.
