Little chapter but I really wanted to stop the part here.

Your mother didn't act the same after the call. She locked the doors and windows from inside and decided that since Dewey had returned from the hospital, you would be better protected by a cop. She even told Dewey to do his best hiding the mirrors so no hallucinations of your psychopath of a father would appear.

You didn't know how you would meet with your friends if Dewey was babysitting you.

"Don't worry Sidney, Y/N is safe." You heard him talk on the phone. "Yes, I know. Take care of yourself, alright?" After hanging up, Dewey turned to you with a sad smile. "I'm sorry it has come this way but I agree with your mother."

"I know..." You responded while sitting on the bed in the guest room. "I just wished I brought some of my things beside my phone and notebook..."

He put a hand on your shoulder soothingly. "I know it's not a lot but there are books, the television downstairs as well as a computer, in case you're bored."

"Thanks, Dewey." Your voice reached to him as he closed the door after reciprocating.

You stand there a minute to watch the door before checking the clock on the wall as well as the hours in your cellphone.

22h....Just one hour to go.

...

You had preoccupied yourself with what you had close to you to wait for the time and it passed faster than you thought. You had already entered the adress in your map and was ready to leave. You opened the window carefully and grabbed your made up way down with the blankets. They always did that in movies and let it hang out in the air.

Now you needed keys. You walked downstairs, gazing at the sofa where Dewey was sleeping. You cursed as each step made the floor creaked under your feet but with a look toward the man, he was still sound asleep. You grabbed the keys and turned away,

Not without waking him.

You fasten your pace in the kitchen, grabbing a glass as you heard him grunted. You checked a second time to see the keys carefully in your pants pockets. "Y/N? What are you doing up so late?"

"I woke up thirsty and wanted to take a glass of water. Sorry for waking you up, Dewey."

His worries desappeared after your words. "Alright, goodnight."

"Goodnight."

You took the glass of water before going up the stairs two at a time. You entered the room and made a last check outside to be sure the cost was clear. "Here goes nothing." Going down as your feet touched the ground, you sneaked to the car and opened it with the keys manually.

The sound of the engine must've being loud because you saw Dewey appearing at the entrance with a surprised look on his face. He didn't have time to run after you as you were already out in the streets.

"Y/N!"

You felt really, really bad.

"I'm sorry Dewey! Tell mom I am too!" And you were gone after that.

The man watched the road where you were a moment ago with panic. He rushed inside before dialing your number. He waited while it rang but no response came.
