Howls and roars of joy rang through the night as Shadow Mountain set Blackwater ablaze, the pent-up emotions of grief, anger, and sadness released with every claw driven into flesh, or fang snapping bone. Every fallen enemy was payment for a lost loved one, every drop of blood was payment for the tears shed on their pyres.

Smoke blew up into the air as the various buildings were set on fire, yips sounded as they crumbled. A group of wolves would run first to douse the wooden buildings in kerosene while the next group would run with burning branches in their mouths to set them alight... just like how Damien's wolves had burned our home. It was just our luck that Damien had replaced all the stone buildings of Blackwater with wooden ones to resemble Avarelia.

My nose was constantly in the air as I tried to sniff out Sapphire's, Xander's, Amelia's scent, or even one of our kidnapped member's scent in hopes of bringing them home, however, the smoke from the buildings acted as a thick covering.

I looked up at the moon which shone brightly onto the scene of carnage, its soft glow bathing the red fires. I lowered my head for a moment to thank the Moon Goddess for her help.

*Jared held onto me as I struggled to get out of his grasp, my strength considerably weakened since my resurrection.*

*"Are you out of your mind. Amelia? Even if you have the Moon Goddess's help, it would take hours for the rest of them to arrive. Going out of the clearing now would be just giving yourself to Damien!"

*I continued to struggle as tears ran down my cheek, my hands clenched in anger as I kicked at him.*

*"Amelia ran out to lure them away from us, if we do not start moving now, they will be back and we will be stuck here once more!"*

*Guilt wracked through my body as I thought of all the things I had said to Amelia, she had already been burdened by the guilt and shame of leaving her Pride members to die, and I continued to pile more on her shoulders by blaming her for Xander.*

*"Amelia knew the risks, Angel! She---"*

*"He is going to kill her, Jared. Damien is intent of keeping Sapphire alive and would most probably keep Xander alive to torture him, but Amelia? She plays no role in his story... he is going to kill her."*

*Jared held me tight as I slumped back into his arms, biting my hand as I sobbed. Maxwell's wolves whining and pawing at the ground, Maxwell cautiously glanced at Jared before moving forward.*

*"You have already done more than needed of you, Amelia, to save your family, giving the most precious thing as payment. You have done your part, now it is time for Selene to do hers."*

I opened my mouth to respond, but the wind howled through the forest before a word could leave my lips, the leaves of the trees rustling and falling from the its sheer power. I took a deep breath to speak, but froze instead, Jared giving me a curious look before stilling as well. It could not be... there was no way that they could have reached as so quickly.

My heart skipped a beat as I looked to see the dark shadows of the Shadow Mountain pack encroaching onto Blackwater's territory, which would have once, long ago, been a declaration of war.

Our wolves were stealthy, keeping themselves low to the ground to avoid the wind, crawling at a snail's pace while my parents took to the trees, jumping from tree to tree past us.

*"They can't see us, can they?"*

Maxwell looked at them before turning back to us.

*"The Moon Goddess gave us this clearing to keep us safe, only those who were gifted sanctuary by her would be able to see what this place hides."*

I stood up from Jared's grasp before turning to Maxwell.

"It is now our time to join the battle, will you fight alongside us?"

********************************************************

My mother and father were in tears when they saw me, and I almost started sobbing as I ran into their arms like I did when I was a pup. The only difference was that my heart weighed heavy with the guilt of what had happened to their son, my brother.

My mother just smiled and held my face while my father stroked my hair, neither of their faces carrying a trace of hate or blame. Our reunion was cut short as a patrol passed us, they sported us, but were quickly and quietly killed by my father who managed to catch both of them by the neck before snapping them.

We took that as our cue to keep on moving, my mother using our mindlink to tell me of how they arrived so quickly. It seemed as if it were a chapter from a fairytale, according to my mother, they were helping our injured when the whole pack heard my howl as clear as if I were in Shadow Mountain territory. Immediately, the pack started to mobilise themselves with those less-trained in battle staying behind to take care of the rest. They started to run through the forest as fast as they could, but it seemed as though the Earth was moving on its own below them, the trees passing them by faster than they were running, and the next thing they knew... they were here.

In the present, they cruelly joyous as they burned down the buildings of Shadow Mountain, even members who, in the past, would try to abstain from violence were gladly taking part in the carnage. I wanted to let them have their revenge on the people who had caused them so much pain, but there had to be order... we were here for a purpose.

Reaching out to grab the scruff of one of my passing wolves, I bared my teeth as he snarled at me instinctively before baring his neck when he recognised who I was.

*"Take a team and break into their dungeons now! Damien has many innocent people trapped in there, and I want all of them to be guided out safely and await my orders, if I do not respond, make sure Jared is aware! Understood!"*

He bowed his head in submission before I lifted him to eye-level.

*"When I said all of them, I meant all, do you understand? I do not care what pack they are from, I want them all out safely!"*

He whined at my tone before baring his neck once more. I placed him on the ground before watching him run, his howls mixing with screams and burning wood as he signalled for others to join him.

My attention was torn from him as I heard a growl behind me, turning just in time to dodge and grab the hindleg of the wolf who had tried to lunge at me. He struggled and snapped, but soon fell limp as I placed my clawed foot on his head before jerking his body upwards.

I was about to continue when a loud howl, raw with pain, echoed through the area, causing many to still. My jaw parted as I recognised the howl... it could not be.... I then looked up at the Moon before growling... of course it could be. My growl was interrupted by Jared.

*"Angel, your parents are on the way to the arena, I need you to go with them. Xander is in no shape to help her through this, the three of you are all she has left to survive this."*
