Adventures In The Realm of Mystery - The Wish of An Elf

Chapter One - The Vision

         IT WAS A COOL DAY in Raceta village, and Thalassa Brook was thrilled. It was an awesome day to go swimming with Zeme and Terra! Thalassa loved to swim. She would sleep in water if she could! This was probably because Thalassa was a Nereid, but who cares? Anyway...

        Thalassa lived in a village of elves. She knew she was different inside though. Her parents and the other elves could smell the sea on her, and therefore named her 'sea'. Thalassa skipped to the park, her willowy blue dress blowing around her as she cheerfully waved to the town elves. Elves didn't really care about their differences, lucky for Thalassa. The town elves waved back cheerfully.

      "Morning Thalassa!" called Mr. Bruno, the baker.

      "Good day Mr. Bruno!" she called back, also waving to Miss Arachnad from the fruit parlor branch of the home tree as she ran to the lake to meet Zeme and Terra. Zeme Warison is a tall female elf, with chestnut-coloured skin, and beautiful flowy brown hair. She was named 'Earth' in Czech. Most elves' names were 'Earth' in one language or another. Terra was a dryad, and yes, elves and dryads are different, and if you confused them in front of Terra, she wouldn't be happy. Terra has pale skin, brunette hair, and a tiny dress made out of fig leaves. Just like Thalassa, Terra had been adopted when she was born. Elves were always acting like children because they lived up to 100 times a human lifetime.

          Thalassa hugged Zeme and Terra. Her long multicoloured hair and pale skin shining in the sun. Suddenly, the earth started to shake. The three girls tumbled over as a huge orange thing came slowly over their head. Thalassa was frozen with fear. She was only 10 years old! She couldn't die now! The something shoved her hard into the lake. She looked up fearfully, to see Zeme and Terra try to jump in too. Thalassa knew they would never make it. Terra was mid-jump when the huge orange thing smacked her backwards onto the grass, where her unconscious form lay. However, Thalassa had managed to summon her magic over water to protect Zeme. Zeme appeared in the lake with her.

              Zeme screamed as the orange thing dug a deep hole that neither Zeme nor Thalassa could see the bottom of. It dumped a huge pile of dirt near the park. It's next swing scooped up some of the pool and also the dirt mound where Terra lay motionless.

         "Terra!" Thalassa and Zeme cried, waving helplessly.
