Chapter Two New home.
I wake up in a cold sweat to find that the bus/plane's landing. Why do I have these weird dreams; why would what the boy have said bothered me? Or was it what he did? I'm so confused! When the plane/bus landsI get off with my bag. As soon as my feet touch the ground I fall to my knees and I both hug and kiss it.
"Get off the ground; you're going to get dirty!" Aurora exclaims, wearing a creepy smile.
I'm pretty sure I don't exactly want to know what's going through her mind at the moment!
"Aurora, there's no need to scare Kaiden!" Blair whispers upset. Her normal [ale cheeks are now flushed with red!
Neither do I....
I shake my head trying to clear my thoughts
I get off the ground and dust myself off; I look ahead and I see this old victorian castle made out of marble with gargoyles on its old balconies. The path leading up to the building is a mosaic pictures of skulls, The windows have stain glass art of death, roses and skulls, there's high towers with names written on the stones and skulls attached to the stone with the name on it.
My overall thought of the building is its creepier than my old home. I involuntary shudder at the thought of staying here; I start to walk to the iron gates in front of the door. I see this box with a slot in it attached to the gate. I pull and pull on the gate but it won't open. I'm confused, why won't it open?
"Silly boy, the gate won't open unless you have a student card!" Aurora laughs this tinkly laugh, as she sways her hips when she walks up to the slot and slides her student id card."Well I didn't know," I scoff, folding my arms as I walk through the gates.
I walk through the door into this grand room, theres a large window with red velvet drapes, red plush couches, shelves holding millions of books, the floor's cream marble, there's a grand staircase to the left that winds up the wall stopping at several floors, there's a high ceiling with a chandelier. The large room is filled with what looks like late comers; I sense anxiety in the air mainly. This sucks, if it weren't for the promise of being trained properly.... I'd have already left.
A woman enters the room, her honey colored hair is pulled back into a braid with white beads put into it, her eyes are sky blue, her lips are pink, her skin is tanned. The womans dress is long and has a slit up the side to show her one leg. The dress shows her arms and ties around the back of her neck. Who could this posh woman be?
"I am Head mistress Reanna, I am here to welcome the late comer of the year! Sad to say but my student assistant Addiline has caught a cold and won't be able to greet you," HM Reanna says gesturing to the crowed.
"How old's Addiline?" I ask Blair, who's looking bored at the ceiling.
"Addy's sixteen, she's been here since she was five. HM Reanna's like her mom in a way," Blair whispers quietly.
In response I shrug my shoulders.
A guy with short brown hair, large green eyes, muscular frame, comes walking towards me. I don't know what to do, I almost turn to run when Blair greets him.
"Hey Colton! I found your roommate!" Blair smiles, gesturing to me.
My cheeks turn a light pink and I look to the floor, I don't like lots of attention.
"I'm Colton Scott, I was wondering when you'd get here! Let me take you to the guys dorm area," Colton suggests, I look back at Blair for confirmation.
"Don't worry Kaiden, Colton only looks like he could kill you in your sleep. He wouldn't harm a fly," Blair reassures me.
In return I give a small smile.
Colton starts to walk and I follow him up the stairs gaping at the wonderful art, the other students follow too in the never ending crowd. I walk up the stairs and when I get on the second floor I see: plants, a small wall water fountain, computers on tables, some bean bags chairs and more art. This place is amazing, I had no clue that the school would be so beautiful looking!
"This is the main area where some of the students get together to hang out," Colton says casually.
"Wow, this is huge!" I reply, still staring at the art.
We walk into a long corridor filled with doors, Theres plants on tables, pictures of the sports teams, candles in holders are attached to the wall, the carpet is a forest green color, the walls are a cream color.
I think it's safe to say that this is the boys dorm.
"Welcome to the guys dorm, there's a showers down the hall. Also we have student Id cards to get into basically everywhere," Colton tells me.
"Why do I need a student Id card to get into everywhere?" I inquire, stopping at a door with Colton.
"It's so our teachers can identify us, it's also so no other guy can get into our room without our permission. I forgot to tell you that there are also twenty-one thousand other students here that reside in the men's dorm area," Colton answers, swiping his card and opening door.
"Well, that makes sense now," I reply.
When the door opens I see two beds on either side of the room, one side has posters and items on the desk and the bed is messy. On the other side of the room the shelves are empty, the desk has nothing, and the bed is made. Theres a bookshelf near the balcony, and a big screen tv in the middle of the room in front of a black leather couch.
"The room looks great!" I remark looking at the bookshelf filled with books and textbooks.
"The students are given an allowance each month for each class they complete, so I bought all of this for the room!" Colton laughs, sitting down on his bed. "Well it looks amazing, you did a good job," I say setting my backpack on the floor.
"Before I came last year I was doing interior decorating at school, that all changed when I came here. They immediately put me in training for what I'll become when I'm an adult," Colton sighs standing up and stretching.
He's pretending like it's no big deal, but I can sense differently; the pain is still fresh for him. I admire him doing it for my sake.
"Colton if you'd prefer to tell me how much you hate being here; you can. I just don't like being lied to," I whisper, my back is turned to him. I'm taking out my sketch book laying it down gently on my desk, I put my picture near the head of my bed, I put my clothing provided into the dressers along with my ball cap, and I put my necklace on.
My necklace is a cross with what looks like vines wrapping around it, there's also one silver jewel in the middle where the vines don't touch.
"You, could tell I'm lying? Okay for now on I'll be truthful with you," Colton says in disbelief.
I'm secretly glad that he will trust me in time.
"Yeah, I've always been able to sense things like that," I say quietly, turning toward himColton's wearing a small grin, I think I just earned his respect.
Respect doesn't matter boy, power does and you have it. You just need to learn how to use it and then you and I will rule.
Get out of my head!
I start to rub my throbbing head, what the heck is going through my mind; I thought my subconscious was supposed to keep me from doing bad things!
"You okay Kaiden?" Colton asks, concerned.
"Yeah, I should be fine. I just got a headache that's all," I smile, through the pain to make Colton think I'm fine.
"Okay, whatever you say," Colton replies.
