Ransom's pov

As I lay in bed, my mind races. This wasn't meant to happen; I wasn't meant to fall for this girl. But I couldn't help myself. She is just downright sexy but also, in a weird way, she challenges me, which makes me attracted to her even more.

I let out a sigh and sat myself on the side of the bed. All I could think about was the consequences of this now forbidden relationship. Not only could Nola get taken away and get who knows what punishments, but I could get punished myself.

My feet suddenly gain a mind of their own and walk to the doorway of Nola's room. Seeing her sleep peacefully, I couldn't help but feel at peace. Still, there was also a major thought in the back of my mind could I do a relationship all my friends and family know me as the loner, the guy that doesn't rely on anyone, the guy that went to jail for murdering someone, what was Nola going to think if she finds out about my past I honestly don't think she will be able to handle it.

Being so deep in thought, I didn't realise that Nola was now sitting on the side of her bed " Ransom, what are you doing sitting outside of the room that's kinda creepy" she giggles a little before hopping back into her bed and patting the spot beside her I was hesitant at first, but I decided to take the chance and lye next to her once I did she snuggles into my side it shocks me at first, but I have to admit I liked it a lot.

" Sorry, Nola, I just couldn't sleep. I have a lot on my mind right now " she started to draw little shapes on my bare chest "it's ok, Rans. It's probably what's on my mind as well how this relationship is going to work well. That's if you want a relationship " it's like she had read my mind I turn so that Nola and I were facing each other " Nola you have to know there's a lot you don't know about me and I'm just scared once I tell you a few things that you will want to run and I just don't know how this is going to work because we could both get in a lot of trouble have you had this happen before may I ask".

She bites her lip and thinks for a little " honestly, no, I haven't had this happen before your the first Ransom, but there's just something about you that drives me wild, and I know that we could get in so much trouble and there's things about me that you don't know, but I'm sure what you have to hide cannot make me want to run away".

Nola suddenly rushes for the bathroom and vomits quite a lot " Nola, are you ok " she vomits a few more times before walking back into the room " yeah, I'm ok just been feeling a little sick the last few days. I think if it keeps going, I'll have to go to the doctor " she goes to get back into bed but before she can I stop her.

" Nola, there's something I want to show you " I reach my hand out for hers. She raises an eyebrow and hesitantly grabs my hand. Once she does, I lead us down the stairs and to the forbidden door " Rans, I thought you didn't want me in this room " I turn so that we are facing each other, and I grab both her hands while gulping quite loudly.

" I know I said that, but if we Are going to have this relationship, I can't hide this from you, Nola; know behind this door is one of my deepest darkest secrets ", and without another word, I open the door letting Nola walk through a loud gasp leaves her mouth as she reads one of the newspaper articles " Thrombey son murders for his share of this inheritance " she stays silent for a while but continues to look over all the articles

This is it. This is where she runs away in fear she walks over to me and places her hands on each side of my face " I'm not running anywhere, Ransom."
