"Get out knuckles! You aren't welcome here! Neither are you Flapjack! " The bar tender said, face turning bright red as a pirate, who smelled of maple syrup and rotten fish, and a young boy, possibly my age though maybe younger, sat next to me.
"But Peppermint Larry!" The boy squelled, sprawling out along the counter top.
"No! Too many times have you two wandered in here and not paid for your candy! I'm done." The bar tended did a turn around before walking away to the other side of the bar top. The two groaned and slumped over, knocking down a glass in the process and spilling left over rappers down to the floor.
"Dear oh dear, you two are pitiful." I mutter digging into my pocket.
"Like you seem any better." The rotten pirate shot back. "Me and the boy are just trying to get the best food in the world!"
"Were trying to get candy!" The younger boy chimed in. "Besides, were tired of eating fish!" He made a sour face that could melt hearts.
"Oh calm down..." I pulled out a ten dollar bill and held it in front of their faces. "Enjoy this, cuz this this all I will buy you."
Their faces lit up like a light bulb as both stared at the paper.
The boy reaches for it, eyes bright and shinning, but I pull it away before he could get it.
"Don't waist it." I slowly hand it over to him, hesitant. He squeals then takes it out of my hand.
"Larry we got the money now!"
"I'll belive it when i see it... fine. Two mugs of candy." The bar tender grabbed two beer mugs from under the counter and spun towards the soda machine.
As soon as he set down the mugs infront of them i swear they squealed as loud as the fog horn of the ship I rode in on. Then, like the moment the mug was set down infront of them, the candy was gone.
I looked at them as they wolfed down the hard sweets before sighing and standing up.
"Seeing as you two just litteraly ate all of your candy, i best be leaving before you ask for more money." I quickly grabbed my things and started walking out to the harbor.
As soon as i stepped outsid, a clap of thunder roared as a storm started raging and leaving me drenched in rain. I sighed and sat on my suitcase.
"GET OUT YOU TWO!" I turned around and watched as the two who wolfed down the candy were kicked out of the bar and landed on their faces on the now drenched wood.
"Well at least we got candy." The boy squealed, getting up and holding up a glass jar full of peppermint candy wrapped in plastic wrappers.
"Yeah, well. Lets get home, get out of this rain before we get sick."
"Yeah lets... hey, aren't you going to go home too?" The boy asked me. I looked at him. They were now both drenched like i was, though they looked more silly, as their clothes started to sag majorly.
"Where? In stranded here for forty years." I reply laying my hand on my cheek.
"Then why not stay with us!"
"Uh, flapjack, im not sure the whale will be fine with that."
"Of course she will! Come on!" He grabbed my arm and pulled me; for being so scrawny, he was surprisingly strong.
"Flapjack..." The pirate mumbled following along.
"Hey... what's your name anyways?"
"Me?" I question, trying to keep up with him. "Um, its... Alice... Yeah Alice!"
"Mine is Flapjack, and that's knuckles. Now come on, bubby, is waiting for us!"
