Assasination

It was in the middle of the afternoon. Robin and the titans were fighting and arresting villains for the past three weeks, mateo did most of the work capturing them without any problems yet he feels annoyed because of how often the titans seem to have not been able to leave the tower for the past weeks. They always say that they're too tired to go on. Robin tries to motivate them into doing so but fails.

Mateo: "You're superheroes right? Come on it's not like procrastinating is gonna help at all if there's a monster attacking out of nowhere and the people need your help?"

Beast boy: "Nah man we would rather stay here. It's too hot out there."

Starfire: "Apologies, but we were much the exhausted unlike you."

Mateo: "Well that's not helping the boy wonder if you're just gonna sit there."

Robin: "Titans!"

Robin then arrives from the elevator heavily breathing while trying to remain hyperactive.

Robin: "Why are you resting!? You should be fighting crime!"

Cyborg: "Dude we can't, have you thought about our mental state?"

Raven: "That goes the same to you with the way you're sweating and exhausted."

Raven stated as she pointed out the sweat on robin's face but wiped it off as soon she mentioned it.

Robin: "Titans, we have to take this seriously if others don't want to see us as jokes. This is our chance as heroes to rise up the ranks!"

Mateo: "I just don't get why you're being serious today, clearly everyone sees you titans as a joke since the beginner and robin you're always having a hard time getting your team to listen to you."

Robin faced in the direction where the titans were on the couch and looked like sloths that haven't moved from their spot for years.

Robin: "A little help here?"

All the titans then shook their heads in refusal. Robin scowled as he crossed his arms.

Mateo: "Is there a reason why your team doesn't listen to everything you're telling them to do or are they always like this?"
Robin sighs

Robin: "They're the reason why i often lose my temper, i can't stand them from time to time."

Mateo: "And you got me involved in this situation, everything is tiresome for me. If you want others to take you, and your team seriously, then i suggest you do something about it."

Starfire: "May i ask the question?"

Mateo: "Sure, what is it?"

Starfire: "Have you been on a team before?"

Mateo: "That's a good question that i have no desire to answer for you, star. Good day."

When mateo is about to leave, robin blocks his way to the elevator.

Robin: "You can't leave! We still have some training to do and aren't you supposed to help me?"

Mateo: "Robin, you made me do most of the work. I already help you before and NOW you do you~"

Robin turns away as he expresses and mumbles his opinion about mateo.

Mateo: "What was that?"

Robin: "What was what?"

Mateo: "I thought i heard something?"

Robin: "You're probably just hearing things."

Mateo: "You sure about that?"

Robin: "Yes of course i'm sure..."

Mateo: "Right..."

Robin: "Oh, but i have one final task for you to do-"

Mateo: "JUST... tell me."

Mateo muttered at that moment he's just tired of dealing with all of this.

(Later)

It is later in the evening, and mateo was roaming the streets of jump city with his clothes all torn and ripped while grasping for a bit of air. He was exhausted. He was tired. Luckily he stumbled upon a place called yum yum kitty diner as he went inside. Mateo had never been to this place before as he was new to the diner. He decided that this was the place to stay for a while as he was currently hiding from someone. He rested for a few minutes until the waitress arrived and asked for his order. He was a little nervous at first about what to order.

Mateo: I haven't decided on it yet. Got any recommendations?

Waitress: Well, we would recommend you our triple chocolate sundaes.

Mateo gives her a few moments before already deciding.

Mateo: I'll take your triple chocolate sundaes.

The waitress left, taking his order. After that, mateo can't stop thinking about that girl who tried to chase him earlier. He wondered why she was after him in the first place.

(Flashback)

Before all of this took place, it happened during the events where robin had requested mateo to buy pizza for their celebration after he tried to convince his team that he would order pizza if they worked hard enough. Mateo only agreed on this once with him, only because robin made him a promise to buy him the latest nintendo switch. He then has permission to use robin's motorcycle and takes off, heading to zippy's pizza ordering pizzas with different toppings. He was about to head back and ride on his vehicle until he noticed that one of its tires had slashed off.

Mateo: "This is weird? I could've sworn these tires were fine after i dropped off."

That was until a silhouette sneaked behind him. Mateo noticed the shadow getting closer and quickly turned around as a single kunai was thrown at him at immense speed, but it was a close call when mateo moved his head a little far, and it did only a tiny scratch on his cheek that it almost hit him.

Mateo: Jesus christ, you know it's dangerous when you almost could've killed someone!

He ducks under after multiple kunais are throwned at him before he makes a run for it.

.......

A few minutes later, he is now all tired and sweaty in the next panel.

Mateo: H-hold up! I need to.... Just. Why do i have to stop in the middle of a chase!?

He landed on his face that he had given up on running while the one who chased him just stared with an unamused expression.

???: Oh wow, i didn't know you were this exhausted. Do you want me to carry you?

Mateo (mumbling noises): Oh, would you shut up? You can't even hit me when your aim is 99% accurate! If i had my powers right now, i would've knocked you two seconds ago.

Ravager/Rose: Yeah, and if someone told me to kill you, i wouldn't do it in a few seconds before you could continue to speak.

Mateo: (What is with my life...?)

Mateo rolled over his body so he could get back up on his two legs before shaking the dust off his clothes.

Ravager/Rose: Are you.... i don't know, finished, dork?

Mateo: Right, you can kill me aft-

Mateo was then cut off by almost being sliced in half.

Mateo: I'm not even done talking yet?!

His words had been interrupted after a pocket knife was close to his neck as she planned to cut his neck off if he ever tried to escape. Sweat begins to slide down on his forehead. Freezing upon the current situation he's in, he focuses on the pocket knife almost cutting his skin.

Mateo: W-who are you, and what are you trying to do with me..?

Ravager/Rose: Look, i don't have time for this, dweeb.

Mateo: And i don't have time for that either. What are you going to do, c-cut my head off?

Rose: if you're going to continue this then i might as well slice your tongue off just for you to shut up.

Mateo: Ok, but one thing, what happened to your eye?

Rose: What kind of a question is that, loser?

Mateo: I don't know. Just to pass time?

Rose:.......

She hits him on the head causing it to bleed.

Mateo: W-why...?

He tries to keep his consciousness alive, only for his vision to turn black. Rose crouches to see if the boy is just unconscious before she gets up and calls someone on the phone.

????(phone): What's taking you so long!? Bring him here now!!

Rose: Whatever, I'm heading over there. Is that all you asked for

????(phone): I already got what i wanted, do i even have to say anything beside th-

She rolled her eyes over as she ended the call. Rose crouches herself to take a closer look at the boy as she does find him a bit charming, but nonetheless she picks up his unconscious body before leaving.
