Adam's POV:

"Honey, are you sure you have everything? I specifically told you to pack your bag last night. You're late now. And you're not even taking any effort to rush! It's your first day of school Adam! No one's gonna want to be friends with a later comer!"

I stare at her from the dining table where I'm chewing my breakfast calmly, neatly wearing my uniform, hair combed, schoolbag waiting for me by the door, already wearing my shoes and of course scented up. My mum's currently running around trying to put her heels on while reaching to get her brush from the dinner table. My older sister Danielle, sighs and gets up from the table and grabs the brush and brushes Mum's tangled hair. I stand up too and pull out a seat for my mum and make her sit down while my younger sister, Emily, help her put on her heels. I go ahead and grab my mum's handbag and ask her what to put inside.

"Wallet, keys, and my phone. And maybe a some tissue and my little bag." she says to me while I go around the house getting the listed items. Oh and her little bag is just a makeup pouch with no makeup but her sanitary pads and extra undergarment. I'm her son and this is normal for a woman to have this. If her little bag for some reason has a used pad, that's a much different story.

I come back to the dining room where I find my sisters about to leave the house. Danielle is sending my Emily to school and then she leaves for work. She's a choreographer and starting her own dance class and I'm in it. My family's kinda like an artistic family. Dad used to be a musician who's now a businessman. Mum used to a ballerina who's now a businesswoman. They work together by the way. Danielle is a choreographer and she knows how to play the piano and guitar. Emily's in ballet and learning the piano. As for me, I dance and know how to play the piano, guitar and drums. We're pretty freaking cool as a family.

"Are we done yet?" I ask my mum and she stops and tried to make sure she didn't forget anything. She nods and the both of us rush out the door. I see Danielle and Emily making their way to the closest bus stop which is near my new school. Walking distance from home. Yessss.

I also see my dad in the front seat of the family car with his eyes closed. My mum knocks on the car door on his side and he jumps up, wiping drool from his face. I laugh and and my mum stares at me. But I don't stop laughing.

She tells him to lower down the window and he does.

"What are you still doing here? I have to send Adam to his school. It's his first day and I need to send him."

"I know. That's why I'm waiting for you guys. So I can send the both of you there." he replies.

My mum and I look at each other before she says, "What are you talking about? It'll take us about 5 minutes for us to reach there by walking. You knew that. We chose that school for him because it'd be easier for him.

He stops and finally remembers. "Ah. Okay I'll leave then. See ya there honey, I love you. I love you too Adam, see you back at home." he says to the both of us as he backs from the driveway. We wave at him until he disappears from our sight.

"Shall we?" I say as I grab my mum's hand and we make our way to my new school.

My POV:

I'm sitting on a bench with one of my best friends, Ashley. Every morning, for 2 years, the both of us would meet up at this particular bench before morning assembly. We'd talk about stuff and sometimes complain about our close friend, Cheryl. Who, complains about every small thing. It's frustrating and irrelevant. Just like her.

We sit there and just stare at everyone who's just entering school, walking past us, eyes dead.

"Zombie apocolypse," I mutter under my breath.
