Summer's Reminisce

"Hey guys! Sorry I'm late!" Wang JunKai greeted as soon as he burst the door open, expecting the duo looking right at him. But instead it was only Yi Yang QianXi standing in front of the large windows, looking at the view outside with a glass of wine and another one of his arm in the pocket of his trousers

QianXi turned around and saw JunKai's disheveled state and walked over him "I was expecting you to be here first. Seems like the role had changed now" he playfully boasted

QianXi's voice is still the same as it was, but man is he all grown up

The references  stands on how QianXi used to be one of the late students to arrived at school, and JunKai being one of the early students

JunKai couldn't help but to break into all smiles as well as he pulled QianXi into his embrace, patting his back "It's really great to see you again man"  

QianXi helped JunKai with his bag and put it on one of the chairs and they took a seat on the dining table and made themselves comfortable. The trio booked a private room in this fancy restaurant for their long awaited reunion- a proper one this time, with everyone of them since, they never get the time to do that yet

"Where's Yuan?" JunKai asked, looking around the room to check in case Yuan is hiding somewhere. Yuan used to do that a lot, and if the duo didn't see him anywhere, they'll either prepare themselves for him to jump on them anywhere

QianXi took a sip of his wine before answering "He said he'll come after he sent his wife home. They have an appointment at the clinic to get a checkup remember?"

The realization hit them both soon enough as they  exchanged this one expression of theirs "Right...wow I still can't believe he'll be a father. Is that a weird thing to say?"  Yuan? A father? Kinda hard for them to imagine

That mischievous boy is turning into an an actual grown man and is growing his own family. They couldn't exactly picture it in their head. Well yeah, getting married and having a child is all normal but you know, it just hits different when you knew each other before you even have your adam apples

QianXi chuckled lightly, the same dimples showing up "I guess so? But I get what you mean"

There was a brief moment of silence with them and their own thoughts. Surprisingly, it wasn't awkward or anything, just them enjoying each other's presence. Man it's been a long while

They were thinking of what to talk about- there's so much yet so little to share, they each don't know where to start, although JunKai is very curious as to how QianXi's life is after becoming one of the well known dancer in the entertainment industry

Them each being busy left a big impact on their distance but it's just one of the inevitable. JunKai was about to pour himself a cup of water for himself, and as he stood up from his seat, the sound of the door clicking from the opening caught their attention

"Whew, I hope you guys didn't wait long" Yuan huffed sheepishly, his face is all pale yet the tip of his ears and nose were red, his neck is covered by this thick, black scarf. He stood at the door, taking his time observing the duo, a smile on his face an he sighed again

"We've been waiting for years man" JunKai joked an continued pouring his water, chugging it own his dry throat to ease his thirst

QianXi playfully pestered Yuan to take a seat and they patted each other's back. They decided to order their meal now that everyone's here now. They talked, laughed, and laughed again. They hung out like they never separated through the years at all

It felt weird to see each other again. They each honestly expected things to go downhill on this reunion, but they look like they're having the best time of their adulthood, plus food was involved as well so nothing can go wrong with that
