Kat POV
I pull up to my aunt and uncle's house, and park out front. I picked up the tubberware and my bag and made my way over to the driveway. Getting a good view of the car that Sam had been given. "Oh, wow, you weren't kidding," I said looking at the car that was now Sam's. "You thought I was kidding?!," Sam said, acting shocked. "Well, nothing that a good old wash and new paint can't fix, I guess that will be your next trip with me," I said, flashing a smile at Sam. I lean over into the car to see the interior. "Seats are good, no rips. Might need to wipe down the inside, but other than that it's a good car. Also cute dash danglers," I commented after seeing the bee and disco ball danglers hanging on the rear view mirror. "Thanks car inspector, also the danglers came with the car," Sam commented. I also swear I heard the radio thank me too, huh.
"Oh, you brought the tubberware back?," Sam asked. "Yeah, though it has my lunch in it. So I'm gonna eat that first, then wash it and put it back," I answered. We stood there for a few minutes chatting as if I didn't come there everyday. We then both turn to go inside. I decided to take the newly formed path, while Sam took the grass. As I continued to walk, I heard his dad yell at him for being on the grass. I laughed a small bit and continued inside.I could hear him pacing back and forth. I rolled my eyes at his foolishness as I continued to eat my lunch. I grab some of my notes and homework out of my bag. I mean, this homework isn't going to do itself, I wish it would though. Though Sam's rambling started to gain my attention more than my college work. It sounds like he is trying to fulfill his lifetime's wish. I laughed a small bit. "He now has the car, he's just got to find the girl, but he's too broke to take the girl anywhere," slightly mocking what I heard him say, under my breath. I take another bite out of my sandwich, I could also hear him practicing his lines, and jeez did he need to work on them. Well, at least he is self aware. "If you need a little extra cash, you can just ask!," I shout towards the room he's in. "Really?!," I heard him ask. "Yeah, it just depends on how much you want," I shouted back. "Just $30 should be all I need," he said, quickly running down the stairs and rushing to my side. "Well today's your lucky day, I have at least $30 in my pocket," I said as I pulled my wallet out, "now don't go buying any drugs now, kid." I chuckled a bit, while he rolled his eyes, "don't plan on it old woman." I tapped him in the back of the head before he could run off. "Don't forget Mojo's meds!," I called out to him. "Shit," I hear him mutter. As I took the tubberware over to the sink to wash.
I hear Aunt Judy commented about how her husband was cheap, whenever Sam's car left black smoke as he drove away. I mean she's not wrong, but also Uncle Ron didn't do too bad. The car still runs and it wasn't that expensive. I mean, I still drive my car from highschool. I'm 27 years old and the car still runs well and it was a hand me down car. I think it would make the car 22 years old. Even though my step-dad wanted to get me a new car as a birthday present, I declined. I told him I didn't want or need a new car, but thanks I guess.
I cleaned the tubberware in the sink and laid it down on the drying rack. I grabbed my stuff and started towards my car. I decided I would go and acknowledge my aunt and uncle before I leave, so I went through the backdoor. Staying on the path I walk towards them. "Oh, Kat, when did you get here?," Uncle Ron asked. "Oh my god Ron. She's been here for at least 20 minutes. She was talking to Sam earlier. You even used her as an example for staying on the path," Aunt Judy jabbed at Uncle Ron. "Oh, yeah, I did do that, didn't I," dazedly said Uncle Ron. "Yeah you did. Anyways I just wanted to say bye before I leave," I said with a small smile. "I swear your visits are getting shorter and shorter," cried Aunt Judy. "I try to come when I have free time. My time is mostly taken up by classes, my job, and taking care of my animals. I will be graduating soon though. So I might have a little more free time then," I said, trying to reassure her. "That's good, maybe we will be able to have some girl time then," She said with a smile. I laughed a little bit as I continued to my car. I'm not one for shopping, but I got used to going with my mom. And well, mom and my step-dad have constantly taking trips around the world. So shopping won't be too bad, I kind of missed how annoying my mom could be. Anyways, I do hope Sam has fun at his little lake party. Cause I for sure was gonna have fun at my lab classes in a few minutes.
