Chapter Seven: Bump

Chris was walking down the sidewalk in order to greet his sister and mother from Circus Baby's. He didn't have to, but he wanted to get away from the house. His father was working on something and his friends....were busy. Sighing...Chris wondered if he would ever get his entire family together again. It has been years since the four of them have reunited, but the family wasn't complete without Michael. He was so into his thoughts that he hardly noticed that he bumped into someone.

"Are you alright?" A voice said. Chris looked up to see a man with brown hair and purple eyes staring at him with a concerned look on his face.

"I'm fine. Sorry that I wasn't paying attention." Chris said.

"Don't apologize for that. Getting into our heads happens sometimes." The man stated. Chris nodded along to that statement while wondering why his voice sounded familiar. As he opened his mouth to say something.....

"Michael? Why haven't you arrived home yet?" A voice called out as a green haired male walked up with a surprised expression on his face. That expression quickly vanished and the male silently grabbed Micheal's arm and pulled him along. The interaction startled Chris and made him wonder about this mysterious Michael.

Who was he and why did he seem so familiar to him?

At the same time, Jaune walked out of the building while holding Ruby's hand. He was lucky to have a girl like her and I'm sure that she felt the same about him. If he was in his old world then he would probably never get a single moment alone with Ruby due to her overprotective family. Not like it mattered anymore thanks to their travel into this one. He had new friends and people who would never turn their backs on him for a single mistake. 

Friends that had interesting backstories like himself. They even had amazing friends who still stuck by them in their darkest times. But enough about that...he needed to go back and hang out with them and spend some time sparing with Dream. He loved this life and would never wish to leave it. Besides it wasn't like he was going to get forced to fight an immortal Queen back home anyway. His thoughts were cut off when Ruby started to speak. 

"Jaune? Are you alright?" Ruby asked.

"I'm fine. I'm just glad that I'm able to enjoy this world with you." Jaune said that caused Ruby to blush.

"I'm glad to be here with you too. Back home...my sister, my father and my uncle kept sheltering me. No one took me seriously, but you did." Ruby said. 

"That's because I saw myself in you. My family never trained me and tried to make me into a househusband. You were one of my only friends along with some of the others who stayed by my side." Jaune said. Ruby just giggled and kissed his check. This was the best thing that has ever happened to the both of them and nothing will force them away. 

Not even their past.
