Elaina finished the page she was reading before folding the top left corner and placing it carefully on her bedside table.

She couldn't wait to see Dalia again.

She sprung up from her bed, showing all her teeth, like a toddler on a sugar rush.

Garnet was laying on the floor right in front of Elaina's door. He was tired as usual.

Elaina knelt down in front of him and looked at him lovingly. He was so cute. She had to hold in her excitement to meet Dalia when talking to him. She tucked a loose hair behind her right ear and adjusted herself.

"Come" Elaina said softly, lightly tapping her palms on her thighs.

Garnet slowly looked up, the sun reflected in his eyes making them a perfect honey colour. He let out a long woof before sitting up. He scratched himself on the neck and let out another long woof.

Elaina scooped him up in her hands as she stood up and then opened her bedroom door.

She carried Garnet downstairs and went to feed him. He demolished it in seconds.

"You we're hungry"
She smiled.

1:10pm

"Shoot-"

"See you hun" Elaina gave Garnet one last pet hurriedly.

She rushed upstairs and picked out an easy outfit: brown jeans, a white collared shirt and some platformed Oxford shoes. She layered three, simple gold necklaces and nearly stabbed herself putting her gold studs in. One ring on her middle finger and a gold chain bracelet tied the look together. Nearly tripping herself up, she ran down the stairs and put her beige, tweed blazer on before getting her tote that she has had for 6 years now. She fiddled around for the right key and opened the door, slamming it shut on accident. She flinched. Luckily, the library was just a 2 minute walk from her house.

1:19pm

She would be a little late but that's alright. Right?

...

"Over here!"

dalia.

"Sorry, I lost track of the time" Elaina laughed awkwardly.

Dalia was looking at at her hair. Focusing on it before meeting her eyes.

"Um, I hate to say it but I have to be honest with you, we're you supposed to go out with your bedhead?

"What do yo-" Realisation hit. Her hair had still been in a bun from last night.

"Don't worry" Dalia said. "I'll help"

She softly took out the elastic band and smoother over the top with her hands before tying it into a more sleeker bun, leaving her curtain bangs out to frame her face.

"Come on my love" Dalia hummed.

I love her so much...
