This is a book about a romantic relationship between the main characters Elaina and Dalia. They both enjoy reading and want to live together in their small town of Riveria.
This is the first book I've ever written so please tell me if I could do so...
Dalia was a beautiful woman. The epitome of a fairy, if you will. Although being an extrovert she enjoyed long walks alone, cloud-gazing and reading books. She was dark-skinned with big lips, the top brown and the bottom pink. She had dark brown, almond shaped eyes and thick eyebrows. She wore her hair naturally in a high puff whilst two twists framed her rounded face. She had a slim nose and a silver septum. Dalia was average height and had a curvy body. She preferred going natural when it came to makeup.
...
Dalia worked at the bakery. Her family had passed down the bakery and it's been successful ever since. Running for 20 years in her little town, it was popular amongst many and was a famous place to go, especially for primary schoolers on half term.
Tuesday 5 April 9:00am
She gave a big yawn. Dalia had been binge watching a series last night, knowing she had work the next day. She always did this.
She lugged herself out of bed and slid into her fluffy slippers, letting the warmness fill her body up like a freshly lit fireplace. She left her blinds closed and trudged across to the kitchen. She grabbed a tangerine and bottled water before putting it in her light brown, suede satchel.
9:20am
Now wearing a sage green tank top, a white pleated skirt and white trainers she took her phone, bag and headed to work.
... 12:00pm
A woman waved at Dalia to get her attention.
"Yes?"
"Um... where is your manager?"
"Why's that" Dalia asked.
"I'm displeased with the service. I had to wait 10mins to get my order when it usually takes 5minutes" the annoyed woman stated. "So where is your manager?"
"Our manager isn't in today. They only come in on Mondays and Fridays."
"Well i'm leaving a bad rating!"
"Um... ok?" Dalia was tired of this.
The woman looked her up and down, probably judging her for who knows what. She got up aggressively, snatching her son's wrist before storming out.
Dalia sighed to herself and then muttered "At least I'm done for the day. I'm so tired" She rolled her eyes and went over to hang up her white apron that read Sugar Stop with a strawberry cake slice on it.
12:00pm
She left and went back to her house
I wonder what E is doing right now. Maybe we can go to the library?
Dalia loved reading. The smell of books and the library was very calming to her. After work it was one of her safe spaces to go to: put your head in a book and just sit there listening to lo-fi beats whilst escaping from reality.
She took her phone from her bag and opened up messages.
"Hey, wanna go to the library?"
"Sure. 20mins good with you?"
"Yeah"
"See you then"
"See you <3"
Elaina was just pure happiness for Dalia. It's only been a week but Dalia wants to ask her to be her girlfriend already. Maybe she can do it today? Or tomorrow? Next week, no two weeks. Elaina made her nervous. But in a good way. She got butterflies from her. All. The. Time.
She put on one of her favourite midi dresses. Yellow in colour with pink flowers decorating it. The poofy sleeves made her feel like a princess which she loved. She paired it with white frilly socks and black mary janes.
