You and Zoey had decided that it could be a good idea to do these escape rooms by this Minos corporation. It was something that you both could enjoy. Plus, if you beat them, you get $10,000 dollars.

It's technically a win, win. And you both didn't have anything else to do over the holiday, so why not?

What's the worse that could happen?

"Okay. I think this is the right place." You said as you pulled up to this weird, large structure that looked completely abandoned. Although, the building seemed to be in pretty good shape for it to have been abandoned. But, why this place? You turned into the parking lot and parked the car in a spot. There we're already two other cars already there. It was weird since the thought of winning $10,000 by playing an escape room, there would be way more people here than you anticipated. You both stepped out of the car and took a look at the enlarged office building.

"Are you sure this is the right place, Zoey? It just looks— Abandoned. Are you sure the address was right?" You asked her.

"Um, yeah. This is where the address on the said to go. It has to be it." Zoey responded, looking at her phone to confirm that the address was correct.

"Okay then," You said. You both then made your way towards the entrance of the building.
Why would they hold an escape room at this type of place? It honestly seemed kinda sketchy. But hey, that's what we do in these types of situations. No matter how sketchy, we do it anyways. Especially when there's money involved. Generic human instinct.

You both walked into the building and looked around. It was just an empty lobby. There was no furniture, or any interior decoration. Just bland floor and wall. But what would you honestly expect from a place like this? You both made your way over to a small desk with a man in a uniform standing behind it. He was just standing there and smiling. His eyes followed your every move, all the way up until you both reached the desk he stood behind.

"Hi. Is this the uh, escape room?" You asked him. He just nodded.

"ID's please." The man said. You an Zoey both took your ID's out and placed them on the counter for the man to see. He then placed a tag with both of your names on them onto your shirts. You expected him to just hand the tags to you to put them on yourselves, but he did the complete opposite of your expectations.

"Thanks, but we could've done it ourselves." You said to the man.

"I'm gonna need to collect your phones."

"Why?" Zoey quietly asked. The man slowly turned his head towards Zoey, his smile never faltering. Zoey slowly took a single step back, a bit creeped out by him.

"We wouldn't want you to send the puzzles out to the public, now would we?" The man responded in a monotone voice. You both just handed him your phones. He then placed them in a drawer in the desk. There was a tag on the drawer that read 'discard later'. But since you and Zoey we're on the other side of the desk, you obviously couldn't see it. What could it mean?

"Third floor." The man said.

"Okay. Thank you sir." You said. You and Zoey both made your way over to the elevator and pressed the button to the third floor which the door closed after.
