Just like Meilin's family, you were given a blessing to take care of to protect your heritage and town.. But being forced to be the one caring for such a duty had pressured you even more once you bump into Meilin-lee.
I was visiting my 13-year-old cousin, MeiMei, who was my least favorite since she always made it my fault. (Also the cause of why my mother doesn't like me..)
We arrived at a red temple which was Taiwanese-theme. "Hello, Y/n. We've been waiting for you" my Aunt Ming said before pulling me in an embrace, my Uncle Jin nodded "It's nice to have you here" there she stood, as sassy as ever... MeiMei. "How's life in your castle🙄" MeiMei said rolling her eyes obliviously;
"Nice to see you too, nerd." I poked my tongue at her playfully as she scoffed.
I smirked victoriously before being pushed inside "You must be hungry, come inside."
Aunt Ming sat me at their table with a bright grin, "Dumplings?" she immediately shoved it in my mouth while I tasted the endless flavor "This is amazing! Lemme guess, Uncle Jin made this?" I said. "Yeah, I hope you enjoy it" He smiled before continuously stuffing his face with his bowl of rice
"What are you doing after this, sweetie?" Aunt Ming asked, instantly shifting by my side
I swallowed my last dumpling before smiling awkwardly "Is it ok if I go out with some friends?" my eyes squinted in an attempt of looking innocent.. it was successful! "Of course you can, your 21, do whatever you want." She swatted her hand before eating her food
"Thank you," my eyes targeted MeiMei in a second while she squinted unbearably, she rolled her eyes before standing up "I'm done." Meilin scoffed in annoyance with the whole table in silence "I'm sure you two are very tired, I'll do the table." I waved them away with them both exchanging looks to each other.
"It's fine! It's fine, Go get some rest." I assured them while pushing them in their room,
"What are you planning?" my cousin surprised me from her room as I shrieked at the sound of her voice "MeiMei! MeiMei, Isn't it your bedtime?" I asked cheekily while she folded her arms, affected by the comment
I chuckled quietly "ha ha, very funny." My cousin walked to grab a book before I noticed a paper falling from it, she didn't notice and continued her way to her room before slamming the bedroom door closed which gave me the chance to sneak the paper to the room I was invited in and zipped it in my bag "I'll look at it after" I went to pick out an outfit
