The next day had arrived as the sunlight streamed in through the windows of Nova Light Stables' main stable. Jackson was the first to awake, then kicked one of his back hooves against the stall that was next to him. Diablo awoke at the sound, being a bit annoyed, then shortly breaking out into a depression. His mare was still on the floor of their stable.

The large, chestnut wooden doors opened to reveal two familiar faces. It was Mrs. Blanca with one of her daughters, Carla. "Alright, Carla, we'll start out on Jackson's side and then switch on to the right side, where Luna is." Blanca confirmed to Carla. "Yes ma'am." Carla responded.

Mrs. Blanca took two hay bags out of the eight they brought in, as Carla took two more as she began with Jackson and her mom beginning with our Icelandics, Winter and her sister, Teddy. By the time Blanca got over to Winter, Carla had already finished feeding Jackson and was ready to move onto Diablo.

She opened Diablo's stall, revealing little Navy. "Mom! Angel gave birth to her foal!" Carla said in excitement, not yet realizing the mare wasn't responding. "Alright, just let me finish feeding these guys and I'll come see." Her mother responded. As Carla waited on her mom, she did realize that Diablo wasn't spazing out like usual. "Hmm... Diablo are you ok?"

Carla came in closer and realized the mare laying on the floor. "Oh no.... Mom hurry please!" As soon as the girl said this, Blanca came over and shock washed over the lady. "Veronica isn't going to be happy about this news, mom." Carla said in disappointment as tears started to roll down her face. "I know but there is nothing we can do about it. Go call Veronica and have her notified and I'll call the vet."

She nodded and went back to the house to do so. Blanca called the vet as soon as Carla left. As for me, I peered my head out of the stall, since the door was still opened but the human quickly backed me into the stall again as she closed the door. I snorted in disappointment. Both my dad and I waited for the humans to be done as I wondered what was going on.
