Years had passed by since my parents had passed away. I was now 18 years old, and responsible for everything that happened. The responisbilty was like a wave of regret and suffering, and i was drowning in it. I could no longer take care of my sister, the estate, or myself. It was advised to me by a letter that I hire a maid. I was so sick and tired of looking at broken plates and dirty carpets that I followed the advice.

It wasn't the worst desicion at first. Actually, it was one of the best. There were flaws though. Flaws that I created. I put out a notice on the Inazuma bulletin board saying the Yashiro commission needs a maid to take care of the house. A total of 30 people applied, 10 of which I liked. 5 of them which standed out. One of them, being him. Thoma, the 17 year old "malewife". The only interesting male maid I had ever seen. He was spectacular.

I ended up highering Thoma out of curiosity. He was so delicate when cleaning dishes and elegant when sweeping floors. I found myself taking a liking to him. He would always give me a list of things he had done and things he prepared after he had finished for the day. One day he seemed quite tired, so I told him that he can go lie down and I'll take care of the rest. He started crying. Thats when I realized he hadn't slept all night

I asked Thoma if he was okay, he didn't seem quite right. He sat down and explained how his family really wasn't doing well, and that they were living in poverty. He barely had time to take care of them during the day. The distance between the Kamisato estate and his house was too far. He put up with it though, because his payment helped him a great deal.

Thoma started to tear up. I couldn't bear seeing him like that. I hugged him so tight to make sure he felt warm and comforted. He broke down in my arms. He sobbed for hours. I picked him up and sat him down on the couch with a blanket and made hot tea for him. I turned the fireplace on and sat next to him.

We just sat there in silence. I broke the silence by telling him that everything will be okay, and that I will help him. I don't think he heard me though, by the time I finished my sentence he was already asleep on my shoulder. He was so innocent. I carried him over to my bed and tucked him in. It would be quite unprofessional of us if we were to sleep in the same bed, so I just slept with Ayaka.

I went over to her room to find her reading a book with her bedside lamp on.

"Ayaka, what are you doing?"

"I saw Thoma fall asleep and you put him in your bed, so I wanted to wait and see if you would come here to sleep. I wouldn't want you sleeping on the couch after all."

"Oh, thank you, that is very kind of you."

"Brother.."

"Yes?"

"How will you help Thoma, exactly?"

"I will figure that out when I cross that bridge. Now, scoot over, we have a busy day ahead of us."

Ayaka shut off her bedside lamp and put her book down. She fell asleep shortly after, whereas I stared at the wall thinking of a way to help Thoma in any way that I could.

The next morning Thoma was already up and making breakfast for us. He saw me come out of Ayakas room and ran over to hug me. He told me that he was grateful for last night, and that he did hear what I said.

I asked Thoma how I could help him. He said that I could move his family closer to the estate so that when he does go from the estate to his house it wouldn't be as far. I figured that it was still a lot of work to go from the estate to his house.

"Thoma, how about instead of just moving them closer to the estate, you move in here?"

Thoma looked at me in pure shock. Almost like he was afraid, but happy.

"Sir, that would be very improper of us.."

"Who cares what they think, as long as we know what's happening then that's all that matters."

Thoma started to cry again. I wiped away his tears that were forming and hugged him.

"I will do everything in my power to help you.."

"Sir.."

"Call me Ayato, no need for formality anymore."

That afternoon, I took the time to go with Thoma to his house to meet his parents. The both of them were so sweet. We sat down and had lunch, and then I asked them the question.

"Ma'am, I have a question to ask you."

"Yes dear?"

"I know the troubles that you two are going through, and I want to help in any way that I can. So, I consulted Thoma and we came up with a solution."

I held Thomas hand underneath of the table, praying that they would comply.

"Ma, pa, how would you feel if we move you closer to the estate and I move into the estate?"

Thomas parents grew a huge smile. They were ecstatic.

"Oh dear we would love that! We would be so grateful!"

Thoma gripped onto my hand as he smiled. We were all so happy.

Later that week we moved his parents into a house near the estate, and Thoma moved into the estate. It was now considerably easier to take care of both him and his parents. We were like a big happy family.
