When Ayaka was born I was overcome with joy. She was such a beautiful child, i swore that i'd protect her with my life. She was the spitting image of my mother, as well. As she grew she became more independent. Her smile was amazing as well. If I could describe Ayaka, I would say that she's the sunflower of everyones life. When she bloomed, she grew. When she smiled it was so infectious that everyone would smile with her.
The people used to say she should watch out when she's older, and that she's blessed to have an older brother like me. At first I never understood why but frankly now I do. A traveller from across the nation had come to Inazuma and attempted to make Ayaka an idol. It was very funny at the time. Young Ayaka singing and dancing. I wish we could go back to those days. Although now is no time for games. When she grew older we spent most of our time dueling and practicing. I told her during one of our sessions that she would one day be better than me. Now, she still has yet to beat me, but she's close to her victory.
When I hired Thoma, Ayaka took a liking to him. They seemed to become good friends, best friends even. Whenever Thoma went shopping Ayaka always tagged along. She was like a puppy following its friend. I had never seen a day where they weren't beside each other. If I hadn't known any better I would have thought they were in a relationship. How silly of me though.
I remember the day our parents passed away. Ayaka refused to come out of her room, and she wouldn't eat at all. She would just sit there in silence. I checked on her of course, but no matter the question she wouldn't answer. It took weeks for me to get her out of her room and eat some food. She got so pale and thin that I thought my parents wouldn't be the only ones who would be passing. That night when I saw her laying in her bed almost as if she was dead, I fell to the ground and started to sob. Tears falling down my face as I wipe them frantically with my hands. I beg, "Sister please, please! I beg of you please eat something! I'm so worried and... and I can't bear to think of the worst! I..." choking up, I wasn't able to finish my sentance. "Continue..." she says with a raspy voice. "I... can't lose you too". I stayed there on the floor. The room... no... the entire estate went silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ayaka got up from her bed and walked out of the room. I still sat there, watching her as she came back with a small plate of food. I started to cry again because I was so thankful. I collected myself and got up. I sat beside her and hugged her. "I love you, and I'm here for you, Ayaka".
