"What the hell was that for?!" I shrieked at Caleb. His hands were up in the air as surrender. My thunderous eyes scanned his terrified ones as I growled and got back onto my feet. Yesterday he had brought a girl home from who knows where, and they had spent ages in his room. Not to be nosy, but I eavesdropped on the two giggling like maniacs about something.

I had just gone upstairs to tease the dude about his incest interests when he shoved me down the stairs because I invaded on the exact girl, wearing only an oversized t-shirt of his.

Obvious, much? Well, it's not like it was a secret; he was kind of a player.

"You were the one who eavesdropped!" He whined, backing into his room.

"What, blaming the floor for kicking me down the stairs now?" I stomped up, much speedier than him. I grabbed his shoulder, whirled him around and kicked him right where the sun don't shine. Choking on his own saliva, the girl yelped and shuffled out of the house, grabbing her phone and wallet. I released Caleb and he fell on his knees. I reversed and pinned him on the ground from the back, and shoved my kneecap in the space between his shoulder blades. Grabbed his arms and mercilessly wrenched them backwards. He huffed in pain.

What? I mean, those combat lessons weren't wasted.

The next day, Caleb avoided me at all costs and Matt picked me up from the gates. I still had the murderous look on my face since yesterday. When I turned to buckle my seat belt, Matt looked kind. Why am I thinking these things?

"What's up, Lia?" He inquired, reaching for my cheek with his hands.

"Stop it." I smacked his hand away, bashing it against the center console.

"What?" He whimpered, shaking his hand, as if to shake the pain off.

"Stop calling me Lia." I snapped, turning away from him. I gazed beyond the window as he pulled out of the private drive and sped away.

One very awkward ride later...

I slammed the door shut after climbing out of the car. Hooking my backpack over my shoulder, I watched as Matt's face contorted into a wince.

I chuckled.

"Be gentle, Charlia, this car is of my own money." He blurted, with a slight Italian lisp.

"You're Italian?" My mouth said the words before I registered what I just assumed.

His eyes widened and became shocked. "What? Why would you think that?" He gasped, raking his fingers through his hair. "Did your Dad tell you?"

"No, it's your accent." I muttered, turning away. "But it's gone now. I should go." I began to walk away. Maybe it was a sensitive topic for him.

All the classes today were completed with no struggle, because I had learnt these things in the palace with my strict and unforgiving tutor, Madame Poisee.

I had tried my best to avoid Matt today, although some were completely impossible because I had two classes of my day with him. Classes were different every other day for some reason and it was inconvenient. Before long, I scored top in class and was praised as the clever and bold goddess. At the end of period 5, I strolled to my locker and emptied my books in the narrow, metal container. I finished my homework in class because I was ahead of everyone, so luckily for me I was free tonight and tomorrow night.

Right after slamming the door of my locker shut and scrambling the lock, a boy appeared from behind me.

"Woah! What are you doing here, sneaking up on innocent girls?!" I exclaimed, shoving his chest.

"What?" He murmured, seemingly to have just woken up from a daze when I snapped my fingers in front of his face. "Oh, just staring at you." He responded. As if that made it any better.

"What the hell are you doing, staring at me?!" I shouted, dropping my backpack on the ground next to my locker.

"I don't know?" He tried, backing up. "Have my number." He handed me a slip of paper, and I smiled oh-so-falsely, graciously receiving it. I could have sworn I saw a familiar face around the corner appear and disappear.

"You should learn never to do that again." I growled, swinging my leg behind his knees and tripping him. That's not all I've got, idiot. I shoved him into the lockers and dragged him by the hair to the boys' bathroom and locked him in. Hopefully he'll be such a dumb idiot and not know how to unlock the door. He was unresponsive, though his eyes were open and his hands were shoved in his pockets. Not even flinching. I huffed and I went back to retrieve my bag.

~~~
The sun shone down on me, preparing to leave the school building and enter Matt's car. He was seated in the driver's seat, obviously, and gripping the wheel so tight that his knuckles were white. I tossed the paper with the number in the bin and I climbed into the comfortable seat, flipping my hair behind me.
I stared at Matt and his expression was bitter, eyes directed to the street ahead.
"What's up with you?" I smirked, paying no attention to the way I said it. I mean, it was only Matt right? Right?
"You came in close contact with a boy not from your family and not me." He snarled, keeping his answers brief and hollow.
"Yeah, to kick his butt." I snorted, remembering the stupid brooding boy.
"To receive his number." He grumbled.
My jaw dropped. It DROPPED. "WHAT?! You think I took his number?!" I screeched, smacking his arm. To my despair, it was too muscular for me to be prepared for when I was only going to an accusing, playful slap.
"I watched you take it." He replied, blandly.
"What is wrong with this world? Why does everyone watch girls?! You watched me take his number, but you didn't watch me toss it!" I pointed at his face with disappointment. How ignorant. Then a wave of realization hit me.
"Is someone jealous?" I accused in a sing-song voice, wiggling my eyebrows.
"Whatever." One last return before he ignored me completely and I him.
I shut the door gently this time, just as a sign of "sorry for whatever I did wrong" to Matt. He smiled weakly to himself then changed back into a frown. Maybe the apology was mutual. You never know.
A/N
Hi readers,
I apologise for not updating earlier, but I had writers' block, as mentioned in the message. This chapter was just really quickly typed up, so it might not be great? Hope you can comprehend my horrible English.
Picture of Matt above, and he is Liam Hemsworth! I thought Gale had the look that Matt would rock! (THG !!) I still need to think of an actress for Charlia's image, though.
Thank you for reading!
