Mermaids and pirates. It was a deadly world. Mermaids "trick" people into dying in the ocean, pirates steal and kill from others. However there lived a mermaid and pirate, even though they mustn't love each other, here they were.

　Drea, full name Andrea Cruz, was a powerful pirate. In both terms of money and strength. Captain of The Hoverfly.

　Jade, full name Jade Sterling, was a beautiful mermaid. Has the voice of an angel, has never eaten a human.

　We're they supposed to meet? Who knows.

"Captain, where are you heading?" Henrietta, a fellow crew mate asked. "Just goin out for some air." she replied, "Oi, be careful out there! You might never know when a mermaid might eat you!" Lynn, another crew mate, shouted across the ship. The two ladies giggled as their captain rolled their eyes. As she stepped of the ship and onto the nearby deck, she sat down, crisscrossed, and enjoyed the breeze. "So quiet here..." Drea thought. Silence..

　"Excuse me," a voice said from bellow, the captain jumped, "Who's there?!". She quickly looked down, seeing the figure. They were a young lady, around her age probably, she had her hands holding onto the planks of the deck looking up at her, the rest of her lower body submerged in the water. Drea quickly realized that she was a mermaid, but didn't think attacking her was necessary as she didn't seem to be the type to attack someone. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but what are those?" The mermaid pointed to the compass, "..Firstly who are you?" The captain responded. "I'm Jade.. What about you?" She answered, Drea was surprised about how gentle her voice sounded, from all the stories she learned mermaids were aggressive. Perhaps the rumors were wrong..?

　The mermaid was gorgeous, she had blond hair with a pink ombré, brown eyes as gentle as the wind. "Well since you asked nicely Jade.. This is a compass. It helps me navigate." she explained to the lady. Why was she so nice to her? Isn't she supposed to be weary? Shouldn't she be in guard, since apparently mermaids eat people? "Compass... Is it possible that you have another one?" The mermaid asked genuinely, "Nope, you can't have this one I have right now either." She responded in a straightforward tone. "Oh... okay".

　Now that did it, "Why do you want this in the first place?" Drea questioned. "Well, I like to collect things from the surface, and show them to children. Most of them don't have a lot of toys so I bring stuff for them to enjoy." Huh, that was reasonable. "Here, lemme tell you this, the next time I see you and if I have a spare one, I'll give it to you." the plum haired girl offered, Jades eyes lit up, "Really?!", man was she beautiful. Drea nodded, "Yup! Promise".

　Jade reached up and held onto the captains hands, "Thank you so much!" she smiled. Oh boy Drea felt her face heating up. I mean cmon some cute attractive girl is holding your hands who wouldn't blush like crazy??

After chatting for a while, Drea sat up, "Well Jade, I gotta go now, see you later." "Oh, bye then! Have a good night!", man did Drea wanted to marry her already. As the captain stepped back onto the ship, the mermaid swam away.

　Drea looked at the ship, it was empty, well except Henrietta and Lynn passed out drunk and laying down on a table. But it was nice and quiet.

　"I think I should meet up with her later." The almighty captain told herself.
