Highschool, Sex And Drama

Chapter 4

I looked at my timetable for my next class, drama. It took me a while to find the classroom but I got there just before the bell rang and entered the room. Most of the class were already here.

The room was huge. One side was rows of chairs and the other side was a well lighted stage. Everyone was chatting frantically among themselves so the teacher obviously hadn't arrived yet. Where do I sit? I thought to myself. Just then a pretty girl with bright pink hair and blue eyes tapped me on the shoulder.

'Hi you're the new girl right?' She asked smiling.

'Yeah, that's me.'

'Well, I'm rose and its great to meet you, I'd be happy to show you around if you'd like.' She suggested sweetly.

I found this really wired since usually nobody wants to help out the new girl. After seeing me hesitate to reply Rose said ' it's ok I'm not a crazy murderer or anything, I was the new kid last year and I know how hard it can be.' She said laughing.

'I'm sorry, and thank you for the offer, I'd love for you to show me around.' I replied returning her bright smile.

Me and Rose then went and sat down and chatted for a while until the teacher came into the room. He was a short man with a funny moustache and a beret on his head.

'Okay class, since it's the first class of the year we'll start of with something easy. Let's do an ice breaker activity, everyone get into a circle.'

Everyone shuffled around and got into a circle I was stood between Rose and one of her friends, Emily. Across the circle I noticed the guy that bumped into me earlier this morning, Seth, was also in the class. He saw me and smiled which I returned. The teacher lead the class through some simple acting exercises and then told everyone to go back to their seats. He then walked back up to stage and started talking.

'Okay now that we know eachother it's time to test your acting. I'm going to give you all a script to perform a scene from for the next class we have. Get into partners.'

Me and Rose were partners and the teacher handed us all a script and assigned everyone which scene to do.

'So you wanna come to my place to practice after school for the assignment?' Rose asked. 'Sure, just text me the address later.' I replied as the bell rang for the next period.

'Bye, I'll see you later.' Rose said as she waved goodbye. I waved and went off to find my next class.
