I walk into the classroom and it feels like any other high-school classroom but everyone is sitting in twos since the desks are huge.
"You must be out new student." A lady says to me as I walk in, I'm assuming she's the teacher.
"Umm... yeah I guess I am." I reply, the nervousness is clear in my voice.
"Why don't you introduce yourself to the class." She says with a bright smile on her face.
Ugh. I swear teachers love doing this just to embarrass us.
"umm okay... my names Sarah and I just moved here." I say feeling sick as all eyes look directly at me.
"Where did you move from Sarah? "
The teacher asks. Can she get any more annoying; I've only known her 2 minutes and I already don't like her. Why can't she just be One of those teachers that doesn't give a crap.
"I moved here from New York." I reply simply.
"Oh that's lovely!" She smiles. "Why don't you go sit over there next to Alex." She says and points to the empty seat in the back of the room.
My heart starts beating as I notice the boy called Alex I'll be sitting next to. Before the entire class sees me blush I quickly walk to the back to take a seat and get out my textbook. I open my textbook to the page number written on the board and start reading.
I gaze at him from the corner of my eye making sure He doesn't notice. I can't help it he's just breathtaking, probably the hottest guy I've ever seen. He has black hair that's messy but just seems perfect. He's wearing all black converses, jeans and T-shirt. His biceps are perfectly shaped and I can already tell he has a abs. I look away and suppress my perverted thoughts, trying to concentrate on my boring textbook.
The teacher stands up "okay class, since it's the start of the semester we'll be starting a new project." She moves to the board and scribbles something. "Our new topic for the semester is Great Expectations. How many of you have read the book before?"
Most of the class raise their hands including me and the boy next to me. Hmm...hot and reads, that's a good combination.
"Great. So the project is going to be done in class over a week. Your task is to make a presentation explaining the relationship between the characters in the book. Your partners will be the person sitting next to you. You can start the project and discuss it for the remaining time of the class." She announces and goes back to sit at her desk.
Everyone starts talking in their partners. I anxiously turn myself to face my partner. "Umm... hi, I'm Sarah. " I say nervously. He looks up from his textbook at me and I stare into his amazing green eyes that I hadn't noticed before. "I'm Alex." He says simply.
"So what do you think?" I ask. He looks at me confused. "About the project..."I explain.
"Oh, well I think that it's a great book, have you read it?" He asks.
"Yeah, I really like it" I reply.
"Okay." He looks back down at his textbook. I can't help but feel hurt by his cold behaviour. I can understand if he doesn't like talking but it feels as if he doesn't even notice I exist. I don't know what I was even expecting from a stranger I've never met before in my life.
A few minutes later the bell rings and everyone leaves the room rushing to their next class.
