Keith

I watched as Perry was sound asleep. She had taken over most of the bed last night and basically kicked me off of it. I was more amused then anything else.

I looked back to the note I scribbled. She would be pissed that we did the run without her. She had been very vocal about wanting to go on them. But, I didn't make the rules and to stay here, we had to follow them.

The sergeant had came in early and told me about the change and He made it very clear he did not want her going with. I didn't question it. My father raised me not to question my superiors.

I doubt the sergeant was in any position to be considered my superior. The man was a drunk and terrible at his job- well what I assume would be his job.

But, He let us in. He gave us shelter and food. I'd serve anyone who was that gracious.

I sighed and quickly left Perry. I made sure the door was locked and closed tight before leaving. I didn't quite trust everyone here. Especially Quinn.

It didn't take long for us to be back in the city and being put into groups.

"Keith and Private Quinn, Private Samson and Private Oleson, Private Daniel and Private Williams," The drunk, The sergeant, put us into groups and broke down the plan.

We had 2 hours to gather food and clothing and then we were to return to the parking garage.

"Cmon Keith." Quinn nodded over his shoulder and I followed. I hated this guy.

I'm not sure why I feel so over protective of Perry, but I do. So when she told me what the fucker did to her, I wanted to kill him.

Or I suppose, at the very least, shatter a few ribs.

"You're less chatty then your girlfriend." Quinn spoke and I tightened my grip on the pistol I was holding.

"I have nothing to say to you," I spat. I could feel the anger boiling. I took a deep breath and tried to keep my cool.

I could hear Quinn chuckling from a few feet ahead. He wanted to start a fight. I took another deep breath and focused on something else. I couldn't get us kicked out. She deserved a safe haven.

"Lets check the Hotel up ahead, Ken." Quinn nodded towards the once lit neon sign - 'Hotel Ginnum.'

"Its Keith." I corrected but followed his lead. This was his mission, but he didn't have to be a dick.

"Whatever you say." Quinn lead the way into the Hotel. The doors were unlocked and still intact. Not surprising. Who the fuck would ransack a Hotel? There was nothing here. Maybe a bit of food.

"Why are we here?" I looked around the gigantic open lobby. Chairs were flipped on their backs, tables were sideways, and there was spilled alcohol everywhere. What a waste.

Quinn didn't answer my question as he walked deeper into the lobby and stopped. He quickly tossed his pack to the ground and turned towards me.

"Let's go on and settle this dispute before returning to the group," Quinn held his arms out with a whole 'macho man' attitude.

"Settle it? There is no settling this shit." I scoffed and walked past him, forcefully shoving him with my shoulder.

"Cmon, We're two grown men, Let's settle it." Quinn grabbed my wrist and I swung at him. My fist collided with his jaw and he released my wrist.

"I said no. Fuck off." I rubbed my knuckles as the coward babied his face. Fucking embarrassing.

Quinn laughed and stood up. I stopped in my tracks and clenched my fists, ready to hit him as hard as I fucking could - again.

"She looked so, perfect, all helpless and scared. A man like you would have probably gotten off on it." Quinn bent over and grabbed his bag, slightly wincing in the process.

"Im not some freak," I spat at him,"You go near her again and I swear to god, your body will never be found."

Quinn kept his smug smile but his eyes told another story.  He was scared.

God damn better be.
