We start to hear a noise. It sounds like an elephant wheezing. Both my parents get up and start running to the front door. I get up and run because I remember them telling me that the Tardis (the doctor's spaceship) makes a funny noise like this one. Suddenly, I am chasing my parents down the New York streets at 8:00 am. We even cross the Hudson River on the new bridge. Finally we reach a dead ended alleyway when I see it. A torn-up amazing blue box. All I can do is stare. I have been told about this box in all of the stories my parents have told me about the doctor. So when a young man wearing a fez steps out I know who I am looking at. My parents however, have a different reaction. "12 years! 12 years! Did you know that! It has been
12 years since we've seen you and it's only been maybe 5 minutes for you!" My mom yells. It frightens me to hear her like this after all the wonderful stories about the doctor. I find myself huddling behind my dad. "I am sorry. I know I should have set a different date but I wasn't sure what time you would be in." The Doctor answers calmly, "Now since we have all been caught up, why don't we just sail away in my TARDIS." My mother looks like she could punch him. "We moved on. We made a life here. Together. As a family." My dad says stepping to one side so I am revealed. The Doctor looks at me sideways then begins rapid fire questions. " Who are you." "Daughter of Amy and Rory Williams-Pond.", "How old are you" "12", "What is your name." "Rose." He stops. I take a breath. He looks at my parents and says congratulations and then turns and goes back into his blue box and shuts the door. Then I hear the wheezing elephant again and the blue bloc fades away.
