(unedited)
It was Sunday morning, Wren had slept for a while. When she awoke she was greeted to the scent of waffles. This made her excited for family meal time. When she got up she was stiff. She somewhat hobbled to the kitchen. Roxanne was the one cooking, there was no sign of her dad.

"Morning Wren, unfortunately your dad had a early morning meeting, he said we could go out to to lunch afterwards." Wren sighed, she rather just have a relaxed day with her dad.

Can we just do something, he's just going to be stressed?

"Unfortunately he already picked out a place and reserved a table. Why don't you want to see him?" Roxanne faced her looking concerned.

He's never actually happy

"Just give him a chance today." Roxanne continued cooking, Wren nodded, although she didn't want to give him an extra chance when he had so many mood swings recently. "Oh by the way I got a promotion at work." Wren clapped and smiled.

Roxanne gave her a plate and had to excuse herself, Wren ate in silence, she'd have to ask Roxanne if she put anything in waffles, they tasted spectacular. She's rather be training or something else. Instead she'd sit through an sufferable lunch and smile.

Her phone buzzed which brought her away from her thoughts
Hey bird, are you doing anything today?

Lunch with the family, otherwise no. I was wondering if we could train today?

We sure can, message me once you're done

Thank you :)

She would at least get to train with Carter for a little bit and that excited her. One bump would be getting out of any extra plans for the day. Knowing her dad her had extra plans.

After eating, Wren decided to try and dress up a little considering that they do not often eat out. Despite her attempt to find something a little more upbeat she ended up in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, Wren stopped for a moment looking in the mirror. She sighed letting it go, she couldn't overdress herself.  Roxanne knocked on her door.
"Can you open the door?" She asked on the other side. Wren quickly leaned toward the door opening it. "We'll be leaving in about ten minutes alright?" Wren nodded in response, going back to the mirror to detangle her hair.

The car ride was pretty uneventful, for only a moment did Wren feel the panic. It was when a car came a little too close to the passenger door.  Roxanne finally pulled into the parking lot of a place that did brunch. Roxanne walked ahead of Wren, getting the host at the door, being led to where Mark was, he was typing away of his phone, his eyebrows scrunched together. When he heard footsteps approaching his eyes shot up.
"Hi ladies," he made room for one of us to sit, Roxanne sat on the otherside of the booth. Wren sat beside her dad. Roxanne had to keep conversation up as, Mark continued to look at his phone, Wren wrote on a napkin
I need to use the bathroom. She placed it beside Mark, he looked at it and moved out of the way. Wren squeased by. She texted Roxanne, letting her know she was leaving, Roxanne said to meet in the bathroom.

"Hey, why do you want to leave?"
He's not even paying attention, we could have gone by ourselves and had a better time. I'm going to train with a friend
"I'll tell him. Go have fun." Roxanne had a sad smile, but a smile nonetheless.

Wren nodded quickly, and slipped out of the restaurant.

Wren: I am heading over now, is that okay?
