I sat on the edge of the bed, a glass of water in hand as per my request. My feet dangled in the air since the bed was so high. It really was a big bed. The sound of the shower running, soothed my ears as I thought about my mother. I wonder if she's okay. When the shower turned off I decided to avoid the awkward encounter of seeing Christian half naked, dripping wet. He'd probably smell my arousal. So I stood up and left the room, once I was outside I didn't really know where I was. I looked left seeing a long hallway and then I turned to my right, the exact same scenario as before. I decided to go right, because right is always right and I came to a large staircase. I'm familiarized with this staircase because it's the one I used to come up with.

Going down the staircase I heard voices coming from the kitchen, it was the only light on. I could've sworn nobody was here before. When I entered there were three — teens? Two boys and one girl, their backs were faced towards me and they were arguing over something. All three of them had dirty blonde hair and they were about the same height. "You idiots stop!" The girl yelled and turned around. When her eyes met mine she froze, holding what I now identify as a chocolate bar. The boys followed suit. The boy on the left of the girl whistled, walking towards me. "Wowww you're smokin'hot babe" he said, I pulled my face. More annoyed than threatened. "Who are you?" The girl asked. "I'm, uhh" before I could answer, Christian walked in. "She's my mate" he said. A few gasps followed behind his statements . A groan coming from the boy who had referred to me as 'smokin'hot'. "I was hoping you and I could get down and frisky" that drew a deep growl out of Christian and I turned my head towards him.

"Cora, these are the triplets. The only triplet in this pack. The girl is Paisley and the boy over there with the Justin Bieber haircut is Parker and the idiot calling you smokin'hot is Peeta" Christian said, mostly in one breath. I smiled at them, bringing up my hand to wave slightly. "Hi, nice to meet you I'm Cora" the girl squealed, rushing towards me and wrapping her arms around me. "Finally another girl, I was starting to lose my damn mind." Her words came out muffled since her face was pressed into my chest. I giggled, she made me feel much welcomed I must say.

"I want a hug too" Peeta said before prying Paisley away from me. Before he could hug me Christian had already grabbed him, giving him a light shove. "Your father just linked me, he wants you guys back in 5. Or it's watch duty for 10 nights" Christian muttered. This sent them all running. "Bye babe!" Peeta yelled before making his way out the door. I laughed again, they really are something. Although, Parker didn't say a single thing. Not once.

"How old are they?" I asked

"16"

"Are their parents related to you?" I found it odd that they addressed Christian so casually. So they must be related in some way. "Their mother was my sister" he said. Now pouring creamer into his coffee. "Oh! I'd love to meet her" I said. Christian's demeanor dropped and he stopped stirring. I think I've crossed the line. I got far too comfortable. "She's dead" he said, resuming the stirring. "Oh goddess, I'm so sorry" I said, I could feel his heart ache, and it really made me want to cry. I hugged him from behind. Wrapping my arms around his large figure. "It was a long time ago"

We now sat on the kitchen island, taking occasional sips from our coffee. "So...want to play 20 questions?" I asked. He seemed to stop and think a little before he said sure.

"Hold old are you?" I started

"23, how about you?"

"19" I replied

"Do you live alone here?"

"Not anymore" he looked up, a slight smile on his face toward me.

"Why'd you take me away from Alpha Nathan's pack?" Maybe I was pushing boundaries with that question but I genuinely wanted to know. His small smile had dropped.

"Because your conditions were awful" he said. Clearly looking agitated once again.

"If you'd only seen the previous ones..." I muttered softly.

"What? Have you not stayed there your entire life?" He said, his voice picking up tone. This was the voice he was using back at Alpha Nathan's territory. I really don't like it. "Why'd you leave? Where were you? What did they do to you" he was no growling, his eyes darkening. I got up and started walking away. I definitely didn't want to talk about it and most certainly not to him when he was like that.
When I heard he started walking behind me, I started to pick up pace. When I turned a corner he'd already grabbed me and pinned me against a wall. His hands were wrapped around my wrists very tightly. "Don't walk away from me" he said through gritted teeth. I cowered away, looking down. A tear had already rolled down my cheek, not only cause of the fact that his grip was really tight but because he forced me to think about my old pack and my father all over again.

"Cora! Answer me. Fucking now" he roared.

I couldn't anymore, I whimpered. "Please stop it, it hurts" I wiggled my wrists, in hopes he'd let go. Maybe he noticed or maybe he actually cared I didn't give a crap what the answer was I was just glad he let me go. I turned away, walking down the hallway. A door was open and I went inside. It was a plain guest room. I closed the door behind me, hoping he wouldn't follow and laid on the bed. Curling into a ball and shutting my eyes that were full of tears.

I miss my mom.
