Two days had passed since the higher ups' visitation, him, James and the king decided to let the nobles to visit for the first three days before they officially open it to the public, yesterday when Idris went out, he was surprised to see the group of people holding flowers and plenty of beautiful flower outside their manor. He is aware that his father is loved and adored by many, but still didn't expect that number of people outside their manor.

"Are you really going to the public, my lord? Your household, really?" a nobleman asked.

"Yes, of course, Sir." he answered the marquess without hesitation.

"Aren't you worried that those people might cause a commotion?"

That made him think, but he knows their people, he didn't spend half of his life roaming around the middle and lower caste for nothing, "Not at all, they are well. Besides, why would they disrespect their duke, right?" he said confidently.

And the people didn't fail him, all were silently mourning and organized even the tailor in the middle caste visited him.

Two more days had passed and they finally brought his father to his grave in a known land for the higher up nobles.

Idris was just staring blankly at his father's gravestone, Rufus beside him holding an umbrella while James and King Roy are a bit far from them talking with some aristocrats who joined them.

After a few minutes he saw Rufus move, "My lord..."

"What?" he asked in a plain tone.

"Your majesty rode his carriage James signaled that there's an emergency at the palace, he forgot to inform you since you're still mourning."

Idris nodded, he opened his mouth and was about to answer but stopped when the two heard a light brush from the neat grass caused by some footsteps. Idris tilted his head to the right before lowering it, "What can I do for you, your majesty?"

"...I believe you already know about the rumors roaming around... about me and your father?" Queen Adela asked in a careful tone. Trying the temper of the young lord in front of him.

"Yes, your majesty," he answered. What's the point of lying now anyway? His father's life is already taken, he needs answers or any heads up about his father's case.

"Uhm... I hope you won't get to hate me and the child..."

"Why would I be, your majesty? As long as you're not the one who commands them to kill my father then..." the man beside him gasped in surprise as well as the queen. Rufus shifted on his stance and held the lord's elbow to send a signal, "Pardon my rude tongue, my queen. But I can't help but to blame you somehow... you know the rumors are circulating right? I just came up with a conclusion."

"Yes yes.. I will never do that, my lord. I won't kill my child's father." Queen Adela gave him a lopsided smile, ensuring the duke's son about her innocence.

"So, it's really my dad's huh? I can't believe with this age of mine I would be having a sibling that I dreamed of when I was still a kid..." he said then sighed. Rufus loosened his grip on Idris' elbow.

"We're sorry we didn't inform you about us."

"It's fine, your majesty. I don't mind besides at this age, I don't really care if my father would like to remarry... it's just that he was killed and I still can't accept that, do not worry your baby will still be recognize as a Gastrell from our household, but that kid will be your heir am I right? The baby wouldn't be a lord but a royal prince or princess."

"Yes yes, of course. I am glad to hear this from you, it's a big relief. Thank you so much, I would help with the investigation, my lord. And please if you are free, you can visit your future sibling at my place, anytime you wish, my lord." Queen Adela said in a hopeful tone, her eyes are glistening with joy and excitement.

"Thank you, your majesty."

After the light conversation with the queen Idris' felt something in his heart, it's like something was lifted inside him. It lessens the burden he is caging inside for days. But that doesn't mean that the doubt completely went away. The doubt cannot be brushed over easily, especially that the queen might also be involved- no, she is involved already since she's the love interest in the drought.
