issey and jake had been friends for a long time. they both grew up in the same area and immediately became close friends. jake has always been there for issey, even when she was moving to atlanta he always supported her with the move. he was the first person (besides jaden) issey told about the recent move back to london for acting. jake was over the moon as he couldn't wait to see her again.
"issey i swear to god, you're making this a big deal it's just a spider." jake groaned annoyingly. "just a spider? are we looking at the same thing?! it's got a million eyes and eight legs and it's literally in my bathroom and my arachnophobia cannot take this any longer." issey was hiding in the covers of her bed while jake was standing in the doorway with the newspaper to get rid of the spider.
"um, issey." he said nervously. "what jake?" she asked. "i've um..lost the spider." he said trying not to laugh. "you what? tell me you're joking!" she shouted. luckily her dad and grandparents were out doing the food shop so they couldn't see the chaos that was going on. "no, im not joking i've lost the spider." he said laughing. "it's not funny! im literally going to cry." she said from under the duvet. she pulled the duvet over from her head and walked into the bathroom looking for the spider herself. she got her phone out for the torch and immediately put it on.
"if you're going to stand there laughing then i'll have to find aragog myself." she rolled her eyes at the blonde boy. she was looking in ever corner of the bathroom, took a picture of the spider and screamed loudly. jake put his hands over his ears and laughed as she sprinted out of the room and jumped back into the bed. "you can fucking deal with it, and you're sleeping on the floor." she shouted.

it wasn't unusual for jaden to go seconds after they were messaging each other. at first, it bothered issey but she got used to it over time. it probably had something to with bianca seeming they were all over each other which made issey mentally vomit. jake noticed the sudden mood change in his best friend so he sat next to her on the bed. "what's wrong?" he asked immediately. "jaden. he's acting weird." she said holding back tears. "you mean that hot american your best friends with?" he asked. she nodded slowly. "we haven't had a proper conversation since i've been here. he said he would message me everyday but he hasn't. he's only messaged me twice and the conversations haven't been as long as i would've liked them to be." at this point, tears were rolling down her cheeks.
"you like him. before you say anything, just listen." she nodded for him to continue. "you like this boy and don't even deny it. whenever his name comes on your screen, your smile is huge. you always ask me what to say to him and ask me for advice because im a pro at giving you relationship advice even though i haven't been in a relationship before." issey softly laughed. "not to mention, you always talk about him and i can tell by the way you look at him and are acting about him right now that you have a crush on jaden." he said pointing at her smiling like a four year old. "i do like him! but he obviously doesn't like me back if he's with bianca all the time." she said collapsing in her bed after pacing the room.
"honestly, fuck him. no, i don't mean sexually. i mean, the he's a dick he doesn't deserve you fuck him. if he his flirting with his barbra girl and is also flirting with you, he needs to get his priorities straight, get in the real world and wake the fuck up and realise that barbra isn't good for him!" he sat next to her. "yeah. thanks jake. that helped. wait that sounds sarcastic but genuinely thank you. that made me feel a lot better." she hugged him and he hugged back.
issey didn't know where she would be without jake. he easily annoyed her at times, but he was her best friend. she was thankful to have a friend like him. even if they did argue almost every day and get on each other's last nerve, he was her best friend. and she was his.
