"Hey Tate!" Callum's voice was loud down the phone. Tate winced as it emanated from his airpods. The pavement clacking under the wheels of his skateboard as he made his way through the city. "Where the heck are you?" Tate cursed as he narrowly avoided a businessman who had stepped onto the pavement at the wrong moment. The man stumbled back as he rolled passed, angry shouts echoing behind him. Tate just flicked the middle finger over his shoulder as he skidded round a corner.

"Callum, chill". He huffed. "I'm on my way".

"The movie is literally starting in ten", Jasons voice emanated slightly muffled from the phone. The call was probably on speaker.

"We have had this planned for days", Abe complained. "Of course Tate's late".

"Oi", Tate grumbled, the wind flipping his hair back and tugging on his oversized hoodie. (It was one of Peter's and despite Tate and him being similar heights, Peter was broader in the shoulders). "I got carried away. Lost track of time. Sorry mom". Abe grumbled at the sarcasm and there was a laugh from Charley.

"Jason has already brought popcorn and if your don't get here quick then it will be all gone by the time we actually enter the theatre", Callum warned. Tate heard muffled voices and a smug laugh. Callum spoke again but slightly quieter, face turned away from the phone. "Jason, don't you dare spill that!"

"Tell Abe to stop jumping at me".

"Stop holding the popcorn above your head and share, you dick".

Tate chuckled as he swerved between a group of tourists and round a woman carrying flowers. The cinema was just down the road and he could see the sign hanging over the street. The pavement was clear of people and he grinned as he sped up. "I am just up the street. See you in a sec", he spoke before disconnecting the call and slipping his AirPods back into his pocket. He skidded to a stop outside the glass doors and flicked the board up as he stepped off. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed in relief as he spotted his friendship group through the glass. The gang were in the corner of the entrance hall. Callum leaning on Charley's shoulder and on his phone as Charley watched the other two boys engage in a heated discussion.

Tate tucked his board under his arm and went to push the door open. That was when a set of hands grabbed his shoulders and hauled him back. He whirled in surprise, hand falling from the door was he staggered. There was a black van in the street behind him and four men wearing medical face masks and baseball caps had poured out. The first man was the one grabbing him. He was large, much taller than him and his grip was strong. Tate yelped in surprise and swung up his board. The wood hit the man solidly in the face with a resounding Thwack! The man grunted and fell back. Tate followed it up with a kick to the stomach that forced the grip on his shoulders to break as the man hit the floor.

The other three men advanced as Tate flicked his hair out of his eyes. "Who the fuck are you?" He scowled, fingers gripping his board. "Did dad piss someone off?" The question was muttered under his breath. (He could have sworn that the headlines had been quiet lately but you could never tell with Tony Stark). There was no answer as the three men advanced. Tate backed up closer to the doors, keeping his board between him and three thugs. Then they lunged and he moved. It was easy to flip one of the men over his shoulder. The momentum was too big to stop as he went crashing into the glass. It shattered and he landed on the floor of the cinema entrance hall with an almighty crash.

The hall was mostly empty. Only the two girls at the desk and popcorn machine and a small family in the middle of buying their tickets. There was a couple by the toilets and Tate's friends in the corner, all of which were now gaping at the scene with open mouths. "Hi guys!" Tate waved as he punched a thug in the face. (Something cracked under his fist and the thug yelled).
