Naruto POV
"SASUKEEE!" I yell, running towards my best friend, jumping on him and tackling him to the ground. "Gah! Dobe get off me!" he yelped, rolling out from underneath me. We were waiting for Kakashi sensei to show up. He was probably off with Iruka sensei again, doing who knows what.
Sasuke glared at me. "Would you stop that, Dobe?" he asks, too nicely. Then he started walking towards me. "Hehe, teme what are you doing?" I ask, clearly nervous. I'm walking backward now. I reached the railing on the bridge we were on, and he kept advancing toward me.
Then I was saved by the one and only pink-haired Sasuke fangirl, Sakura Haruno.
"Sasuke!! Hey Sasuke! What are you doing? Do you like my hair? Is Naruto being dumb again? Naruto! Are you upsetting my Sasuke-Kun!?" she raised her hand to hit me on the head, and before Sasuke or I could stop her, she punched me straight in the face. "Hey!!" I complained, "that hurts!!" it did. A lot. I caught Sasuke glaring at Sakura. Whenever she showed up, it seemed to ruin Sasuke's mood.
"Hey, guys," another voice said. "Kakashi sensei!!" Sakura screeched. "you're late!!"
"Sorry, I got lost on the path of life-" "we don't care!!" Sakura screeched. Sheesh, She's worse than me!
"What's our mission for today, Kakashi sensei?" Sasuke asked coolly. I loved his voice.
"Today's mission is to help a farmer plant his crops. Come now," he replied and started to walk off. I sighed and followed. "Hey Naruto, why aren't you complaining about our D rank mission?" Sasuke asked quietly. I jumped. He was right behind me; I could feel his breath on my ear. I quickly turned around and glared at him. "i have my reasons, teme," I replied. To be honest, I don't know why I'm not complaining. Today I just feel like doing something that's not very much work. I mean, I guess planting crops isn't exactly easy, but I have my shadow clone Jutsu to help with that.
Suddenly, I heard a yelp from behind me, and I looked to see Sakura on the ground, crying and holding her ankle. She must have tripped and sprained it. Kakashi sensei was next to her in an instant. "You alright, Sakura?" he asked. "No!" Sakura replied through her tears. "Obviously not!"
Kakashi sensei sighed. "Okay, uh, someone is going to have to take her back to the hospital," he said. "Sasuke-Kun can!!" Sakura exclaimed, grinning. I wonder if she tripped on purpose so she could get some alone time with Sasuke.
"No," Sasuke said. "I think Kakashi sensei should do it." I looked at him in surprise. It wasn't like him to pass up an excuse to get out of a boring D-rank mission. But then again, maybe he's being nice to Kakashi sensei, we both know he wants to finish the new book of Icha-Icha Paradise. I never know with that guy. "But Sasuke-Kun-!" Sakura tried to protest but was cut off by Kakashi sensei.
"Okay," Kakashi sensei replied, looking just as surprised as I was. "I'll take Sakura back to the hospital, Naruto and Sasuke, you guys continue with the mission, okay?" we both nod. He picks a pouting Sakura up and takes off. I know he's probably not coming back, he's going to read the rest of his stupid book, so it's just me and Sasuke, we have to do all the work alone. Well, not alone. I have my shadow clones, I guess.
Sasuke and I arrive at the farm, the old man handed us bags of seeds. "All of those fields need seeds planted, okay?" we nodded.
I glanced at Sasuke. "Hey Sasuke," I said, and he looked at me with an odd expression. "What are you planning, Dobe?" he asked. How does he always know when I'm going to do something?
"Watch this," I reply.
I created 200 shadow clones, and each one got to work planting seeds. Sasuke tried to get up and help them, but I pulled him back. "This, Sasuke, is the magic of the shadow clones," I said sitting on the ground against a tree and patting the space beside me. He sat down. "You don't have to do any work!" I grinned.
