Water in the Heart

Alex - chp1

My body was thrown back onto the floor as they locked the door behind me. I whipped the hair out of my face and looked up. The figure chuckled, his chest lifting up and down. I grunted indicating I wanted this to be over with. "Alex, my dear. You know you've been here for so long. I just wanted to congratulate you on that." 'I want to kill myself' "You'll be assigned to vacation for a couple of weeks. We don't want a overworked machine, do we now?" He waved goodbye as I was cuffed and taken back to my room.

I sat upright on the bed, contemplating if I should die or not. I had no purpose except to follow my leader. It was his benefit, not mine of course. Why would he even think about his senior assassins. I've been here since I was a little girl and the most I get is a break? Bullshit. This man is heartless.

I felt water stream down my face, a pit in my stomach. What is this? I felt myself curl up and feel some weird sensation. I was wondering if I should close my eyes and seep into the dark, or stay like 'this'. The heaviness in my eyes slowly came to a close as darkness emerged.

The sun beamed in my face as the alarm indicating breakfast was being served, went off. I clicked the red button at the side of my door to be brought to breakfast. I was cuffed once again and gripped onto pretty harshly. I glared at the woman, she didn't notice for a while. Once she turned to me, we stopped. One eyebrow was raised, I plastered a grin at her.

"Darling, you can't be doing this right now." She whispered. I scuffed and looked away. We kept walking to the cafeteria. She uncuffed me and closed the door behind me. I stood in line to grab food. I was handed a tray with pancakes. I gave the chef a quick nod and scurried away. I saw someone sitting alone, they didn't look familiar. I knew everyone in this quarter. I sat by them and looked at them.

I observed their facial features. They looked gloomy and tired. "Hello." They sprung up as if they didn't see me. I grunted as it scared me a little. "Sup."

They brushed their red hair out of their eye as they glanced at me. "Names Rey." She said. I showed my ID and she nodded. "Did you just get out of training?" I slipped out. She nodded her head as we both stuffed food in our mouths. "Pretty sure I share a room with you, at least you're cute." I blushed as I covered my face.

She used her finger to make me face her. She smiled "Don't worry I don't bite, yet." She lifted herself up to put her tray away.

I probably had my mouth open a little because some food slipped out. I quickly cleaned up and put my tray away.

I was laying face up on my bed looking up at the ceiling. CLANG! I looked towards the door to see Rey grinning at me. Once she was uncuffed and put in the room, she looked behind her and slowly walked towards me.

"Hey cariño." I looked at her confused, she saw my face and chuckled. She was standing right above me. "They haven't brought my bed yet. What a shame, I'm sleeping with you tonight." I felt myself turning into a tomato.

She brushed my hair aside and was most likely looking at my mouth. "Shit." She muttered under her breath. "Whats the matter?" I asked. She walked away not responding to my question. She opened the bathroom door and closed it behind her. I don't think she locked it.

I brushed that thought out of my head and reached for a book I got at the library. We have a little town inside of our campus. There's the cafeteria, library, clothing store, decoration store, etc. It's like a mall but free. Well not free, with the expense of fighting alongside the devils that control us.

But fuck. It's all worth it if she's here.
