Word gets around

When I get to school I already want not go home. I don't want to spend another day here. I walk inside and the minute I do everybody stops what they're doing, turns around, and stares at me. Some are shaking their heads, some are wiggling their eye brows, some are whispering, and others are just staring at me. I don't know what to do so I just continue to walk. Just then a hand yanks me away from everyone else. I turn around and see that it's Nicole. I've never been happier to see her.

"Let's get out of here before it gets any worse." She whispers

"Um okay." I say

We run into the janitors closet and cover our faces so nobody knows who we are

"Why the heck was everyone staring at me!?" I ask

"I told you! It's because of you and Justin! Everyone thinks you're a bad girl now because of what happened!" Nicole says

"You mean with the microwave!?" I ask

"Yeah!" Nicole giggles

"This is not good! My reputation is ruined!" I say putting my face in my hands

"No it's not! It just got even better!" Nicole says with stars in her eyes.

"Nicole, I actually liked being the good girl! I liked doing what I am told! I like having perfect grades!" I yell

"Well what's the fun in...." She stops "wait have you been crying?" She asks

"I....I..." I try to tell her what happened but I just start crying again

"It's okay, you're okay." She reassures me and gives me a hug

"Look lets just get out of here." I sigh

I start to walk toward the door but when I'm about to open it, I start to hear voices. I peek through the crack of the door only to realize that half the school is surrounding the door. I lean in to hear what they're saying
"Did you hear what Lydia did?" A voice says

"I hear that she and Justin stole money from the principle!" A voice says

"I heard her and Justin had an affair in the teachers lounge!" A voice says...this one makes me want to gag

"I heard that they hid a dead body in the locker room!" Another voice said

They were all rumors and none of them were actually true.

"We can't go this way Nicole." I say

"What do we do!? We can't hide in here forever!" Nicole whisper yells

We look around and then notice the air duct on the ceiling. Nicole's eyes light up, sometimes they light in ways normal eyes shouldn't.

"No." I say shaking my head furiously

"Yes." Nicole says with excitement. "It's just like in the movies!"

"I am not climbing in an air duct!" I say crossing my arms

"Fine, you go out there and deal with all that drama while I go into the drama free air duct!"

"You're crazy." I say

"It's your choice!" She replies

"Sigh."

Nicole walks over into the corner and gets a ladder. She started the climb up the ladder and into the air duct.

"Are you coming or what?" She asks with a grin on her face

I look at the door then at the air duct...

"Fine, I'll come. But if I see any spiders then you better wish yourself luck." I say walking over to the ladder

I start to climb into the air duct which is way bigger and roomier thank I thought. But it's also dustier than I thought

"Ewwww this is hella gross!" I say while pulling out a napkin to sneeze in. "Nicole didn't you know that I'm allergic to dust!"

"Oops!" Nicole giggles

"Do you even know where we're going!?" I ask

"Nope." She says still grinning

"You're such an idiot sometimes." I say continuing to sneeze

"Aye, it's not about the stop it's about the destination!" She says

"Where did you get that from, some cheesy romance movie?" I ask

"I came up with it myself!" She says continuing to crawl

Just then we hear a huge crack

"Uh oh." I say

"Hehehe." Nicole laughs

We both start falling from the ceiling

"WEEEEEEE!" Nicole yells

"AHHHHHH." I scream

I fall onto the floor of a reading classroom.

"Ouch." I say holding my wrist my wrist starts to swell up

Nicole falls onto a couch. At least she has a soft landing

"That was so fun!!!" She says jumping up and down

"Nicole your crazy! We could've died or something!" I yell continuing the hold my wrist

"Woah....your wrist!" Nicole says pointing to my wrist.

"What!?" I ask

I look down at my wrist only to see it all swollen and red and slightly purple

"Really Nicole!?" I ask

"Don't worry! Umm..I have an ice pack!" She says reaching into her purse and pulling out an icepack

"Wow. Thanks." I say squinting at her

"How about you just go to the health room?" She asks

"Oh hell no! I don't want any more trouble or drama!" I say

"Whatever." She shrugs

A teacher walks into the classroom

Girls, what are you doing here? Class hasn't even begun yet!" She says pointing to the clock

"Oh we were just turning in our....um homework!" Nicole lies

"But you don't even have this class!" The teacher says

"Oh yeah! Sorry bye!" I say and run out of the classroom with Nicole

"WAIT! WHY IS THERE A GIANT WHOLE IN THE CEILING!?" The teacher yells

We don't turn around, we just continue to run.
