A/N: yep, new fanfiction. I love the boys! Decided to write this to celebrate them releasing (the preorder of) Love Me So, and also the fact I actually managed to get 7/8 signatures (damn it, Charlie) without even meeting them. Hope you like it!

(Amelia's POV)
Heart racing, feet pounding, jagged breathing. Yells faded behind me as I sprinted away, the bag clutched firmly in my grasp. Normally, I didn't steal, but, as winter approached, I desperately needed the money to stay alive.
Three knocks, short pause, one knocks, then pause, then twice. Faint shuffling sounded behind the door, before it swung open, revealing the familiar, shadowed face.
Silently, I handed him the bag, and received a pile of notes in return. "Good girl." He sneered. "Come back when you need it." The door slammed shut in my face, and I turned around, heading back to my home.
It was the most desolate parts of London, where no one went, the buildings run down, shut years ago, bricks crumbled to the floor. I dipped into the alleyway, coming to my carefully assembled pile of metal sheets and torn material that served as a shelter.
Screwing open the jar, I put the bank notes into it, counting my money. Thirty two pounds, forty seven pence, to get me through the next two months.
With a heavy heart, I curled up, the sounds of rain hitting the thin, metal roof lulling me to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up early, to hear faint footsteps. It was still dim, so I squinted into the alley. Someone was passing by on the street, a backpack slung over their back. Something good had to be in there, so I silently got up and crept after them.
They were walking along, headphones in as I lurked at the edge of the alley, barely looking out to watch them. The backpack in question was hanging off one arm, and I knew if I passed by them from behind right, going left, before about turning and running, I would have the backpack.
Guilt took over me as I steeled myself, hating the fact that I'd stolen more times than I could count. Despite living on the streets for longer than I could really remember, the happy upbringing I had had, still lingered.
My vision narrowed as I lunged after them, my feet kicking up quickly. I closed my hand around the backpack, digging in against the wall and running. Their annoyed and surprised shout filled my ears as I ran, knowing I'd have to run in a full circle as I was so close to my shelter.
"Amelia!"
Turning, I saw the one person I trusted, Leo. "Hey." We hugged briefly, continuing our journey.
"What you managed to get?" He nodded to the bag, and I shrugged, reaching down to unzip it. We both whistled in appreciation at the laptop, full set of chargers and cables, tin of food and small wad of money. "That's a killer of a find."
"Here." Sharing out the money and food, I slung the backpack more securely over my back. Leo wasn't often around, as he was more come and go than me, but I trusted him with my life. Whatever we found, we shared. It had been him who had kept me alive when I was first on the streets.
"Thanks. Found something earlier this week you might like." Leo reached into his pocket, handing me a necklace, with a gap for a photo. "For... You know."
"Thank you." My eyes welled up in tears as I took it, giving him the rest of the money in return. The one possession I had managed to keep when I started on the streets was a tiny photo, about the size of my two thumbs, of my twin brother and I.
"Go put it with your stuff, then let's go find something to keep us warm." Leo said gently, laying a hand on my shoulder. "Meet you at the end of here in five."
We parted ways, and I hurried back to my makeshift home, tucking my new necklace into the hidden hole in the side of the wall, covering it again with a ripped blanket and racing after Leo.
"Let's go, baby girl." He smirked, knowing I hated the nickname, before we both ran off towards the large superstores to find something to last us the winter.

A/N: I'm sorry it's so short, but I didn't want to put too much into the first chapter. The others should be longer 💚 give me feedback as well... I'm not sure how I'm doing with this one
