The exchange between Armin and Jean is painstakingly awkward, as Armin holds out his palm eagerly, while Jean is hesitant to grasp it; as if it was a dangerous thing, poisonous, even. Though, little did either of you know just how venomous this snake truly was.

After a moment longer of hesitation, Jean finally grabs onto Armin's hand— his bone crushing grip makes the blonde wince in discomfort as he pulls away, flexing his hand a few times to bring the blood flow back into his fingertips. Jean was less than amused with how friendly Armin seemed to be with you; his curiosity definitely piqued. He wasn't aware you had any other friends. Why would you keep this from him?

"Before I leave you, I wanted to invite you to a party I'm having at my place, y/n." Armin says, putting in a friendly smile while his tone hints at an ulterior motive. "Both of you, of course."

You'd probably punch Armin right now if you could. You didn't know what he was planning, but you weren't sure that you liked it.

"Maybe." You smile, before swiftly leading him to the register to ring up his text book. "Just a second Jean, I have to check him out— I mean, you know, the book! He has to pay for the book."
