Egg Hunting

(HAPPY EASTER! Once again not my story written on Twitter by the lovely @Megafactuals !)

You had learned Sun and Moon actually never went on an easter egg hunt and vowed to fix that immediately. You hid eggs around the house as Moon snoozed away in bed. You'd hide some during the day for Moon after Sun found his eggs. 

You put different quarters, candy, and toys inside fifteen eggs for both of them so thirty eggs in total. Fifteen for Sun and fifteen for Moon. You hid the last egg and felt giddy as you watched the sun rise through the window. You quickly got your small costume on. 

You didn't want to out on a full body rabbit costume so you just got rabbit ears and a tail to act in as the "Easter bunny". It was more for Sun than Moon since Sun wouldn't laugh at you for wearing this...You felt your cheeks burn as you imagine Moon teasing you immediately after chuckling at your outfit. 

 "Love- Why was there an empty basket and- You're a bunny!?" Sun suddenly cried, excitement in his voice. 

You turned to him and grinned, messing with one of the white rabbit ears.

"Happy Easter you both! Well- Um- Sun for now- I know you share a headspace- Anyway! Welcome to your first Easter egg hunt! Sun you get to look for fifteen eggs and Moon will look for his fifteen tonight. That's why there was an empty basket in there." You explain, feeling more and more excited as you went on. 

Sun was frozen there for a second before squealing happily and wrapping his arms around you to pull you into a tight hug, his rays spinning wildly. You held his hand as he ran around the house excitedly, collecting eggs left and right. You gave him hints when he got stumped on the hardest to find eggs. 

After he found all of the eggs he gave you some of his candy even though you refused, he insisted you should get some for all of your hard work. You and Sun spent the day playing board games and watching movies. Sun stopped you from taking off your rabbit outfit, commenting that you looked "cute as a button" in it. 

You just chuckled as your face grew hot. Soon enough the Sun had to go down and you told Sun to go into the bedroom so you could hide eggs for Moon to seek. Sun pouted, but kissed you and did as you asked. 

 "Oh! Bunny! Moon says you should hide too and keep your costume on!" Sun chirped, smile growing as he spoke. 

You raise a brow, self consciously reaching up to mess with the rabbit ears. 

"Why?" You ask, looking up at him. Sun's rays spin as he looks you over again. 

 "It's a surprise! Make sure you hide good! See you tomorrow morning!" Sun sang and waved as he shut the bedroom door. 

Huh... Weird... You feel a shiver go up your spine, but you shake your head and focus on hiding eggs for Moon. Not to mention finding a hiding place for yourself... For a reason that you think will end with you limping tomorrow... You clear your throat and try to ignore how your skin flushed at the idea of Moon's teeth on your throat. 

Wait- No. Focus. Egg hunt. You focus on hiding the last eggs and quickly looked around, the sun starting to set on the horizon. You ducked into the bathroom and hid behind the shower curtain. You laid back in the tub and stayed as quiet as you could. 

The house was dead silent as you waited for the sun to set completely and Moon to be let out. 

 "Better hope you hid well, Rabbit!" Moon's voice filled the house, faint as you huddled lower into the cool tub. 

You kept your breathing quiet and even as you kept an ear out for Moon's footsteps. You laid like that for what felt like eons, heart pounding loudly in your ears.
